Poch is being diplomatic, If Toby's contract situation is not sorted he won't play any major role in the end of our season.

Doesn't mean he won't play ever, but he will not be in Poch's long term plans, and that's Toby's choice entirely.

Fans are resigned to a Spurs team without Toby now, i'm not sure why the media persist, the matter doesn't even erk Poch as it used to, when questioned as before.

Move on media, no story here, nothing to see here, we are doing well without Toby, our form hasn't suffered, so there's no angles for you hacks to work.

If toby turned around and said "i'd, like to play my contract out at spurs but then leave ona free and get as much money as i can from another club. It will be my last contract before i retire". Would you take it or would you sell? (Assuming he gets over his injuries)

I think i would with no hard feelings.

Why on earth wouldn't you take that deal? 2 more years with a committed player, absolutely.

Interesting situation with Toby is whether we'd keep him for the next season knowing he'll be off for the £25m clause at its end.
I think that while with hindsight we wish we could never have had that in his contract, now knowing it does puts us in a decent planning position. We can weigh any offers along the lines of, take £25m away from the offer, would you take it for a top player with 1 year left on contract? So I'd sell for anything £50m+, reject anything lower than £40m, and ponder anything in between (probably, accept from a foreign team but reject from a Prem team).

I wouldn’t. I’d sell him this summer. Get as much as we can and reinvest it back into the squad. Get that De Ligt if we could. I thought we’d struggle without him in the side, but I was wrong. Ideally I’d love him to stay, but under no circumstances should we let him leave on a free. Get as much money as we can, and move on.

Why the doh rating? I just asked your opinion.

I would but he’d have to sign a new two year contract as currently he could turn around in a year when, say, Real, activate the 25m clause and say ‘actually, changed my mind. I’m off.’

Would real buy a 30 year old?

We have Super-Jan and Sanchez, as well as Dier. Behind them CCV and Foyth. Three of these are young and talented; two of them not even close - atm - to be first team regulars (CCV & Foyth), while Sanchez have proven to be of very good PL-quality already. Apparently Dier doesn´t want to play CB - he wants to be in midfield. Earlier there has been talk about Ben Davies plaing to the left when we play with three CBs, but he hasn´t really proven himself in that position in the PL (only played in that position for Wales).

De Ligt is going to be 19 when the next season starts (born august 1999). For all his potential, is he really going to replace TA who´s a seasoned professional?

Personally I would love for us to get young and super-talented players like De Ligt. But at the same time I would like us to get some more proven players in the squad - especially at the back. Experience is crucial for a defender at the very top level. It would be very difficult for us to replace TA - and I´m not convinced MdL would be able to fill that hole in the next couple of years, it would be more like selling the finnished article and replace it with something that needs a lot of work and time to reach the same level.

With Sanchez, Dier, Foyth and CCV all being right-footed, wouldn´t it make sense to search for a young and talented left footed CB (MdL is right footed)? As a understudy for Jan? If we sign MdL, we are probably going to (or should) offload at least one of CCV and Foyth. But we still should get at least one more top class, seasoned professional 25-30 as a direct replacement for TA.
