He should start up front on his own against Gillingham. Lets see what's he's really got there, could be a nice boost for him.

I try not to let this silliness bother me. Some of our "fans" only happy when they're whinging and we've given them fuck all to whinge about for so long
I think part of it was that we were playing at a such a high level at points last season - people just expected us to start off at that level again.

But some players had tough summers at the Euros, confidence has dipped and we've had to dig in and start again so to speak, and build up that confidence and flow we had at our best last year.

I've not engaged in any of this since the game so cool thanks, didn't really know. Dembele and Dier too?

I do feel that this Gillingham game has come at the right time. With Kane coming off today, ideal chance to give a start to Janssen, get some minutes under his belt, and hopefully against lesser opposition, Janssen can get his first goal and get his confidence up.
I still believe this guy is going to be a ruthless goal machine for us once he settled properly.

People forget that majority of his goal for AZ Alkmaar came in the second part of the season, he's still adjusting to PL defenses and his teammates.

Should of passed to Lamela instead of shooting! Obviously wants that first goal!

I have watched him play 3 matches for his national side - all 3 games started upfront on his own. He worked the opposition CBs to near submission. He is a team player & was the best player of Holland in all 3 games, getting praise most of the Dutch greats.

This could be blessing in disgiuse. Hopefully he gets the run of games & gets a goal.

Early day for Vincent, but he should have passed to Lamela.
Get the injury that Kane might have picked up, Vincent should be starting the next few games. It should also give Kane a break to freshen up for the CSKA match on Tuesday week.

I'm not really sold on Janssen lots of effort but questionable quality. Really hope once he gets his first goal he will settle down. But at this point I wish we had spent an extra £10 million and got Batshuayi as I think we could do with a striker with real pace up top.

Got to say, a premier league striker should at least be getting that close to the target. Looks a poor player to me so far, hoping I'm wrong...
Yes, that was a bad miss and you could sense the desperation in him for that first goal.
But, he has looked really impressive when he's played in and around the box. Has great hold up play, great feet and good positioning. He runs at defenders, is strong and seems to be able to dribble his way out of tight spaces - even when surrounded by 3 opposition players.
Just missing the finishing. It will come!

Batshuayi is twice the player than janssen ...... Just watch how many goals batshuayi already scored for chelsea !!
Er
He's scored 1 league goal in 4 appearances (mostly as a sub) and 2 goals in a league cup tie.
Not sure you can make the comparisons mathematically or objectively.
By your argument, Mikhail Antonio is 5 times the player Batshuyai is...

Exactly...from what I see, Moses is before him in Conte's thinking...He is not even brought in as a sub when Chelsea are losing.

Zero...in the 206 minutes he played...And your point is ?
Are you going to infer Janssen is a flop from that 206 minutes ?
Do you need me to give a list of players who started slowly for their new club but flourished when given time ? Happy to shove it in your face...
