Wow, wasn't expecting this. Rayados is my hometown team and I was a season ticket holder for many years there growing up.

Definitely very up for this – always wanted Vinnie to get his 2nd opportunity at Spurs, but the Mexican league might be a lot more suited for him than the Prem. Rayados just won the CONCACAF Champions League and has really a great team already, a mix of young prospects (some of which I have no doubt we'll see in Europe soon) and seasoned players. Pretty excited about this!

Wish him the best, obviously hasn't worked at spurs and I hate to use the old cliche but he always worked hard for us

That's incredible. You could sit at the top of that mountain and get a real idea of what sitting in the London Stadium is like.

I know nothing about the trustworthiness of the source, but at least one report in Mexico implying that VJ turned down the move to Monterrey.

“From the outset, the Monterrey plan was clear: imitate Tigres and hire an elite center forward who comes from Europe to face all the competitions that lie ahead.

Unfortunately for the board, the plan did not go as expected and should lower their claims a bit.

According to what he published 'The Sniper' in his column today in the Daily Record, the leadership offered by Luuk de Jong, Christian Stuani, Vincent Janssen and even Radamel Falcao, but none accepted.

In this way, they will look for a more accessible footballer in that position to reinforce a team that only has Rogelio Funes Mori in that position.

In this week, Rayados will launch offers for South American scorers, but without the Old Continent poster.”

Still hoping against hope he gets the chance to do a Sissoko. Not being taken on tour doesn't bode well though....

I'm not sure about that. All the reports before we signed him said he had an excellent attitude.

There's no secrets in football mate, all players find their level. So many players make a step up, can't hack it and essentially give up, his career has ground to a halt and it seems he's happy to stay and take the money.

Just flog him back to the Eredivisie for a token fee. Let him get on rebuilding his career and we can free up a squad spot and some wages. How he and GKN are still here is beggar’s belief.

He had surgery last summer and was out for most of the season. A move would've been impossible. The season before he went on loan.
I know he turned down a loan move to Brighton, which probably wasn't a smart move, but it suggested to me that he wanted to fight for his place rather than having a bad attitude.

Its clear to me the bloke has a bad attitude, we can't give him away

When he scored his first goal for us that was not a set piece everyone went mental especially poch. Think just bad form then injuries have massively hampered him and the fact he just isn't good enough.

Both most likely have lucrative contracts so who can blame them, most of us would be doing exactly the same in their shoes.
The question that need to be asked is how they got to Spurs in the first place and why they were pretty much on the fringe from the outset.

What a waste of money he has actually been. The millstone of football players.

It happens. It's the nature of football, you take a punt and when it works you either have a great player or a great profit but more often than not you end up with a Janssen. I'd still prefer us to not be put off and keep taking gambles.

Gambles are things that don't cost double digits in outlay in the millions.

He's ruining his own career really. He should have gone to Brighton on loan and given himself an actual chance. Now he's stagnated and likely to never play for the Netherlands again. Maybe if he gets himself a move back to AZ he can kick on.

Jesus, this is pretty embarrassing for the scout that recommended him. An absolute disaster of a transfer.
