In my opinion, the club are right to be looking for at least 12-15m for Janssen. He's a 24 year old former Dutch Player of the Year and Eredivisie Golden Boot winner with nearly 20 international caps. The market has certainly changed a lot since we purchased him for 17m in 2016. We can't even get Grealish for less than 30m anymore.

but don't get me wrong, he's shite. 12m is sadly just pocket change in today's market.

Many have said this was a Poch buy.. Poch personally scouted him and such.. but I just wonder if this was a signing forced upon him and the reason why Poch did the personal scouting was to really convince himself that this was a decent forced back up he had to make do.

Yes Toby is a class CB so no suprises Poch did a u turn. But Poch scouted VJ himself so there must be something good about him that Poch, reluctantly or otherwise, signed him up yet he is not in his plans.

GNK doesn't seem to be in Poch's plans either yet he's in the squad due to the injuries.

Very strange

There were murmurs his attitude and application in training wasn't upto the standards Poch expects and now clearly Poch is done with him.

Beginning of last season it sounded like he had an opportunity to go to Brighton but didn't want to go and instead goes off to play in the Turkish league for a season.

At his age, don't understand that one. Surely should have looked to prove himself in England and use it as an oppurtunity to show he has something rather than going off to play in a League weaker than the one in Holland.

I don't think he even excelled in Turkey either .... I can see him running down his contract till he leaves on a free. What's that another 2 years ?

But realistically he needed to go to a club where his confidence would be elevated to somewhere where it was before. That would not happen at Brighton. He would struggle to score loads of goals there.

I can understand him going to a totally different league, but it just hasn’t worked. He must be damaged goods.

*Now Burnley are said to be interested, even if only the Daily Fail!

The problem is that he is only worth what other clubs are willing to pay. They know that he has been shite and then injured. We only have one striker left and Poch still says no, surely other clubs will be a bit cautious..

He wasn't awful. He just didn't score as many goals as 'we' wanted/needed.
But just looking at the Premier League, there are potentially 7 teams where he could easily be at least as good as what they already have.
From Huddersfield at the bottom, to as high as Wolves, currently 8th. They all have hard working centre forwards that aren't scoring many goals. And he's shown in the past (albeit in the Eredivisie) that he can score plenty off goals.
Get him in the shop window this weekend and let everyone know he's still around.

I'm surprised there's no interest in him in Holland. He otre up the Eredivisie before he joined us.
