I thought he looked awful. Couldn’t complete simple passes and I thought he looked less mobile Imo. Hopefully will improve after he gets a few games under his belt though.

Didn’t think he looked that bad at all. Yeah few misplaced passes but I thought he looked fitter than the last he came back.

Vic struggled massively, watch it back. Obviously gonna take time but personally as much as I like him I'd sell in the summer if we received a good offer.

his role is all about mileage IMO i,e if he cant get around like he used to do then we need to look for other options.
But i dont think thats a secret at this point....

Genuinely looked like he was playing in slow motion yesterday, not sure if that's because he wasn't match fit or if he's lost a yard of pace .

It seems that in the modern game, these type of midfielders only get a select few years before they deteriorate, but fingers crossed he can get back to what he was.

I did watch it back and I maintain I don’t think he looked that bad and miles fitter than the last time he played. Can’t actually remember which match it was but that game he really looked shot. Yesterday I thought he was moving much better.

Bit harsh in here on Wanyama. Been out for what seems like forever, coming into a game where the whole team is struggling. People forget that his primary function is a "destroyer" and thats where he comes into his own. I was watching the game with my Arsenal supporting Father-in-Law, and even he said that with Wanyama and Dembele we had the best CM in the league and no one could get past us.

If Wanyama can get past his injuries (big IF i know), then we really do have one of the betters CMs in the Premier League on our books. He and Winks could become a good duo as it would allow Winks to come forward with the ball more.

Yeah I still hope he can get back to his best. I'd actually go as far as saying that he's quite underrated. He's not simply a Sandro-esque player. He's a much better passer and two-way-player than people give him credit for. With a proper pre-season I can see him taking a permanent spot beside Sissoko (....if we want to go full beast mode at the middle), or Winks when we need a bit more urgency in the middle.

A fully fit Wanyama would be one of the first names on team sheet for me.

Our best defensive midfielder by far, but can he get and stay fit?

How is he going to get fit if he stays on the bench or only plays a few minutes? There seems to be little progress with him. It doesn't appear that he's being eased back in and increasing his number of minutes. Does anyone know if he's playing full matches e.g. for U23?

It’s weird he hasn’t had u23 minutes. It’s partly what it’s there for really isn’t it?

It took Kane the best part of 8 months to get back to full form and sharpness after his ankle injury last year. He was still scoring but did not have the same aggressive running and shooting. Let’s give Wanyama a few games in a row to get some form and fitness before we fully write him off.

Wanyama's currently 3rd choice DM. I'd rather give that position to Skipp and sell Vic.
Use the money, along with Dembele's fee, to go towards getting another starting CM.

I guess Poch doesn't want to uproot a reasonably settled midfield (Winks, Sissoko and sometimes Skipp) at this crucial time in the season, so Big Vic will have to be patient.

Will be interesting to see what happens in the summer. We'll have Winks, Sissoko, Skipp, Dier and Vic in the CM slots.

To be honest, I can only see Vic getting sold if we bring in a new CM'er. That should be fairly straight-forward to do, but previous transfer windows have shown otherwise.

It's as simple as that for me. He was so, so good a few years back. I just have serious doubts that he'll make it back to that level, and so there's surely a case to be made for cashing in.

Maybe try for Rice and swap Wanyama

No offence meant, but that would be a waste of time.

We'd have to pay £90m+ for Rice because any less and the Spam fans would riot!!
