I think Mason and Nabil will stay but I can see Carroll being sold. Having Wanyama on the team will definitely help the likes of Mason/Nabil/Winks/Onomah play to their strengths. Especially Nabil, who I felt was pigeon holed as a DM when his strong suit is based on the attacking/possession side of the game.

I'm happy to see Nabil stay. Plenty of room for improvement with him. Whereas with Mason, I feel he's a player that won't get much better. A very Steve Davis type of player that would do a job for a lesser team but he isn't up to the standard of competing for us in the CL. He was decent or worse when playing average Europa League teams.

I don't know how anyone sees this as anything but a fantastic signing. Last summer he was pretty highly regarded around here, but now most seem to see him as incapable. Why? The discipline issues this year were a problem, but, other than his stats (which are good), Southampton allowed only 41 goals this season (equal to City, less than WHU and Pool).

Worked with Poch in our system, adds badly needed depth in that double pivot (we truly only have Dier, Dembele, and maybe Bentaleb who are naturals there), and has top 6 prem experience. All for 11m? It doesn't get better than this.

I think Bentaleb/Mason/Winks/Carroll is ample back up for Dembele.

It is unrealistic to expect a top draw back up to Dembele because when Dembele is fit he plays.

If we got Kante, it would mean Dier was then the back up. I don't want that so happy we aren't after him. He will be a game changer for whoever buys him though

Think this is a cracking signing. The Pl is going to be so competitive this season and with Cl to contend with as well, we need a deep squad with little, if any, drop in quality when it comes to injuries and rotation.

Absolute no brainer at £11m, I think he'll end up surprising a few with his all round game in this team. Quality depth and keeps up our physical superiority to most teams.

Imagine taking Dier, Wanyama, Dembele to battle of the bridge II :sneaky:

Although clearly not official just yet.

Positive news, my one fly in the ointment is the mirror article says Pochottino missed out on Scheiderlin and LALANA! since when were we in for Him, I thought he went to Liverpool before Poch came to us.
Still I have decided to believe the stuff about our Victor:)

Lets not get ahead of ourselves. It's only one outlet (mirror) saying it.
Hopeful but no guarantees at this stage.

Lallana deal actually dragged on for quite a while, by all intents and purposes it was done before WC but we did have ITK about trying IIRC and I remember hoping it'd come off.

I believe Mirror had quite a hit rate with us last season also.

He's in Kenya today...according to Twitter:

Today we were with Victor Wanyama at the top maximum prison in Kenya Kamiti Prison where he gave prisoners hope
