Good 'ol Tom Messi as I like to call him to annoy my mate at work who supports Spurs but thought he was shit. :D

Good luck Tom. I never had the dislike of him as a player lots of people did. I think he will be an asset to them. Gets the ball down and looks to pass quickly, and most importantly, forward.

Good move for his career, was only stagnating with us.
Wish him all the best for his future and hope he gets plenty of games.

Think he'll do well. Plenty of ability and good vision but ultimately not up to the standard we now need. Hope he gets a chance to show what he can do and also hope Swansea stay up for some of our old boys. Good luck to him - never been an ounce of trouble.

He was shit.

Your comment was shit. He's been with us since a kid, never (as far as I'm aware) caused any kind of fuss or trouble. Wasn't on high wages. Put in some good performances when called upon. What more could you ask for from a squad player?

He may not be up to our standard now but it's fucking embarrassing that we have fans calling one of our academy players shit.

Winks is where Carroll needed to be. Yet the sad part is Winks is years younger.. Just goes to show how some players can develop and others can't. Can't say I disliked him, but I'm glad we got rid of him to free up a space for others like Winks to continue to develop and hopefully prosper.

Wish him well at the Swans and it will be sad to see him go down (which I think they will) but such is life and he'll probably find his level playing in the Championship. Could tell he wasn't overly happy by his face in the pic (much like Aaron when he left) but oh well.. this is football. If he works hard and the team can improve he might still stay up.

I hope he does well

He showed flashes of being excellent, moved the ball well and even had a decent shot on him

But for one reason or another he was never able to put it together and never looked like ever becoming good enough to cement a place in our squad

Maybe a move away will allow him the regular first team football he needs to fulfil his potential

I wonder if his career will match/exceed the likes of Dean Marney

Good move for him. A club that has a history of at least trying to play nice football, and a place where he should fit in nicely. I have no ill feelings towards Swansea, and there are plenty of other teams I'd like to see go down, so I hope they are able to get it going and stay up.

Best of luck to our young Tommy Carroll!

Either that, or some players have a naturally higher ceiling than others. There's no shame in that, and there's no reason to dog a player for it (not pointing at you - just generally).

Tommy Carroll will be 50 years old & STILL look like a school kid.

Good luck and as someone said feel free to take points off our rivals in your fight for PL survival.
