IMO keeping Toby for a year would most likely result in a net gain of more than the 25m we'd get if we sold him. However, the fact remains that ITK (the best ones) are adamant that Poch wants him out for whatever reasons. Baffles me, but there it is.

Baffles me too. Poch made Toby captain today. Surely if their relationship was broken that wouldn't happen?

Not rocket science from what I hear, that he will still be here. He doesn’t want to go anywhere. Decided to post this here rather than ‘ITK’, as 50% is educated opinion.

Play out his deal with us and get a huge contract next summer is probably the smartest thing he can do long term. Fuck if we keep Eriksen, Toby and sign GLC I may have to call a doctor for the erection.

If we are serious about challenging for trophies then we need another 2-3 years from both him and Jan. Giving them, and Eriksen, new deals would be better than signing new players.

Personally, I just don't believe the info we've previously had about the extent of the supposed Poch/Toby falling out is correct. Plenty of salt liberally applied from me on that one.

I guess we'll find out if anyone comes in with a big salary offer in the next few days. Would love him to stay.

It’s quite obvious he’s banking on one huge last contract so will leave on a free. Any buying club probably isn’t wanting to spend £25 million on him and then hand him the huge wages he wants and he’s already at an elite club so the pool for him to choose from is small.

He knows he will get a huge chunk of that 25 million as a signing on bonus next summer at a new club, rather then the money going to Spurs!

Personally I will be delighted if we get one more year out of him! We didn’t pay much for him and he’s on relatively low wages, and we’d have had his best years!

Not sure Levy will see it that way!

Wouldn't be surprised if he went to Ajax next year on a free. He seems to have a genuine affinity for them, has the 3 x's of the amsterdam flag tattooed on him.

One more year out of him with Sanchez and Foyth preparing to take over next season is pretty ideal. Should both be much better after another season bedding in.

See out his contract so that He can negotiate a sign on fee unfortunately

You say that, but he also made Rose captain several times last season. Played him in midfield and clearly was his “go to guy” on several occasions. Yet here we are with Rose staying behind to try and sort a move to another club.

Despite the stories of how Toby has let Poch down I think this ( like Rose) is far more about the hierarchy at the club than the manager’s doing.

I wish we could just sit everybody down together, put the past behind us and get him to sign a new deal. Fuck me, this Toby situation is so frustrating.

Think his 25M clause has like... 5 days to go? Unless talks have been going on for sometime, its gonna be hard to close a deal in that time.

Would love him to stay, I think he is massive for the club. A rock in defense.
