I know this has been discussed to death and we don't know all the ins and outs but Danny Rose's interview slating the club is about as bad as you can get but he's still at the club and playing although to my knowledge he hasn't been offered a new contract? I think Ghaly threw his shirt on the pitch when he was subbed and he didn't last long after that. There has got to be more to this than Toby agreeing a new contract and then rejecting it for a better offer coupled with his wife being disrespectful.

Disagree. I think it’s been proven previously that Poch loves his players unconditionally - until they give him a reason not to. Once Poch has been burned by a player, his mind is seemingly made up. Toby going back on his word sealed his fate. I’m fairly sure that Danny’s Rose will be moved on similarly. As will Eriksen.

It's probably as much about the way he rejected it as anything. He could have done it politely in which case I'd imagine it would be water under the bridge or, he (or one of his people) could have had a full on slanging match with Poch or Levy. Don't suppose we'll be getting any insight any time soon though.

PSG close to signing Abdou Diallo. As i don't take Roma offer seriously, don't see any others realistic destination for him this year.

It has to be a coping mechanism from some posters who say Toby has burnt his bridges..a lesson to other players etc. Completely ignoring the FACTS that he played over 40 games even when Sanchez was available.

Also forgetting that if he goes on a free next year he would still get a signing on fee and a wack of a boost in his weekly income.. Toby is not the loser here, not by any stretch. There's a reason he inserted or insisted on a buy out clause.

Yah he crossed Poch and you NEVER cross Poch...what balderdash. He played 40 games and played in the CL final.. Toby may have crossed the club..which is different to crossing the coach. Stop trying to make it out that Toby is the loser..lol not by any stretch. His guaranteed to go to a CL club next season and still earn big bucks.

I love my club like any other supporter but i can also see through spin and this has so much spin its not funny.

This has Juve (next year) written all over it. An aging, but VERY good player on the free. Hopefully I'm wrong.

Slightly OT, but I remember Ghaly warming up to come on in a game about a year later and getting booed so heavily that the manager at the time (either Jol or Ramos) changed their mind.

No, no he's leaving, so you won't be wrong - the only thing that may be different is the club.

Have a cookie!

Even if he goes for free next year we’ve had our pound of flesh He’s been on relatively “low” wages for a player of his calibre for a number of years now. Can’t complain and much as I rate him given his age it would not be a devastating loss.
Well not on the level of scum losing Ramsey anyway

Not quite in agreement, Poch will play the best team he can with the players available. But.....Toby won't get a new contract because he rejected one after shaking on it. Whether Poch or Levy was furious, probably both. We will still play Toby if he's here though.

Agree fully with your reasoning it is the correct eay to deal with the club "asset" But to make it out that he crossed Poch and he is out is on another level. Im of the view that we bought him on the cheap, he's not a top earner. He's been a major factor or should i say part of the team which got us challenging for the title and securing our 4th CL qualification. We've earned full value from his signing. He will be okay wherever he ends up.

Loosing Toby would be awful. We should give him whatever he wants. Top 3 defenders in the league.

if we did that after apparently pissing Poch off big time, and him being offered what he wanted now meant JJ was right that he would walk do you think that's the right direction?

only a few know exactly what happened from the info they have been told, and will never know if the truth will ever come out, but pointless backing your manager with 1 hand, and then stabbing him in the back with the other

we finished 3rd and never conceded as many goals as we have this season

That has more to do with having Dier and Wanyama shielding our defence in that season. We didn't have much of that in this last season. Not only did we concede more we scored less too.
