United reported to be looking at Kostas Manolas for the summer, got a clause of £32m which is activated after this TW.

That is one hell of a price for Manolas. Any club should be looking at that deal tbf.

Agreed. I don't know exactly how good he is but I know that he is considered a pretty good player. That price could be a bargain in today's market.

Is the Sampdoria centre back left sided? as the reports in Italy are we’ve bid circa £40m for him.

Last I read Inter had opened talks with him. However, alot of this spiel has come from Calciomercato.

The vibe here in Denmark is pretty high. Joachim looks like he has been playing in the Serie A for a decade and is tipped to have a very bright future ahead of him. We're pretty good at developing CB's in Denmark with Daniel Agger, Simon Kjær, Andreas Christensen etc.

His father and agent is saying top6 in England/Italy is interested, but don't think a move will happen in january. However they're of course willing to meet the top clubs if they want a meeting.

He talks a lot then. Can't be too popular with the club.

To the Danish media he does some, but nothing out of the ordinary lets say Raiola style - his father is also a board member for a club in the Danish league.

Joachim just signed a new contract in november though, but my feeling is that Sampdoria already know that can't keep him forever.

I do like the photo of the president here

Not sure what else he can say but here’s a few quotes from him yesterday about his contract

Toby Alderweireld says his performances prove he is happy at Tottenhamand 100 per cent committed to the club, despite the ongoing uncertainty over his future.

Alderweireld was at the heart of a dogged rearguard display on Tuesday as Spurs beat Chelsea 1-0 in the League Cup semi-final first leg.

Spurs last week triggered a one-year extension in the defender’s contract to tie him down until summer 2019, but it activated a clause allowing him to leave for £25million at the end of the season.

Alderweireld’s team-mate Mousa Dembele is on the verge of a move to China after running down his contract, but the centre-half has been reintegrated into Mauricio Pochettino’s team despite refusing a new long-term deal last season.

“I’m very happy to stay another year,” said Alderweireld. “It was [a one-year extension] in my contract and I’m happy Spurs gave me the confidence to stay another year.”

Asked about the release clause, the Belgium defender said: “People can see that every time I play that I give 100 per cent for this club — this is what I keep doing every time I play.

“I’m only focused on things on the pitch. This is my fourth season and I’m very happy. I’m doing everything to help the team

If he stays another year then leaves on a free great. We'd have got our moneys worth and he gets a nice big fat last payday to help retire with.

Thought he was class again today, so composed and our best defender. Such a professional with the circumstances. Would love him to stay.

He's definitely gone. Clubs are going to be chucking money at him in the Summer. He's going to end up with a £10-£15 million + signing on fee/wage increase because of this clause.
