I agree he's off but he's still gonna cost someone £25m, and at his age there won't be much resale value, so I wouldn't imagine his signing on bonus will be as much as you think.

Well I'm sure we can take comfort from that when he's adding value to Manchester United's backline next year.

Dry your eyes mate, it's not the end of the world.
I'll be here for hugs if anyone needs them, if/when it happens.

'if'? It's the hope that kills you isn't it
Dunno mate, this weird thing about always presuming the worst case scenario is inevitable I find a bit odd tbh.
I suppose it's just a defence mechanism, but its odd nonetheless.

Oh c'mon, man! It is inevitable and to be honest I'm cool with that, it's indicative of where we really are in the pecking order.

What sticks in the craw with this is Poch going out to bat for his man, getting what said man wanted money wise, having it thrown back in his face.

It sucks because it's so obvious Poch would have loved him to stay.

I'm welling up here at the sheer injustice of it all *ahem*

Come on mate its not inevitable, your're just telling yourself that in preparation for if it happens.

Completely agree with the rest of your post though.

JJ said a while back that if Toby was here next season, Poch wouldn't be. I know who I'd rather keep.

Yea I remember reading that. It's insane to think if that is true how Poch still picks him. He may have moved the goalposts with his contract but to say Poch will go if Toby stays is some serious shit

If that was the case we saying even an apology from Toby won't be enough. I guess Poch needs to set an example. Such a tough one. Only players that could possible be given redemption is kane and Lloris if he allegedly did the same

If MP really wanted to help him on his way, he wouldn't pick him near every week. He'd be delighted if he signed an extension imo.
MP's frustration is he can only spend what he can generate, If Alderweireld goes on a free next year, then he has to sell another player to get some funds to speculate and fill the gap.

Maybe you know more than JJ.

Things change. Agree Poch wouldn’t pick him if there was an issue.

With the injuries suffered this season, i'm not surprised at all that he has been picked. I'm not sure anyone would be up for watching him rot in the reserves for the season. As with any decision made by the club/manager/players theres always someone to jump on it and say it should have been done differently.

We need him, absolute Rolls Royce of a defender. Can't believe that Poch would want to lose him, regardless of what has happened before. Sign him up!

We have got to do everything that can be done to keep the guy

Like he has been immaculate this season. He along with Verts are just well... the best CB pairing in my view. Just a great performance.

We'll have to find a new manager if we keep Toby.
