What annoys me is that Toby may well want to leave, but that shouldn’t stop us playing him until he does. I believe he is a top professional who would still give his all right up to moment he is sold.

We did the same thing with Walker last season around the same time and it cost us against Chelsea. We are not the first team to have players who have desire to move elsewhere, such as Costa, Coutinho, Mahrez, and they still performed or are performing for their clubs.

No it didn't.

Did you see Walker's performance against West Ham at the London Athletics Bowl? He was worse than awful...

Frankly, you don't know weather he's being a 'top professional' during all of this. If he was 100% focused he would probably play

Does make you wonder, Walker still played quite a bit after letting Poch know he wanted out.

Of course Toby put in a good performance at Brighton, world cup place for him at stake and they hardly caused many problems all game.

Putting my Spurs hat on I'd rather we give Davinson the game time, especially now the FA cup run is over. I trust him and he's the future.

Can only go by his conduct of last few seasons. I don’t think anyone would claim Costa or Mahrez have shown anything to suggest they have better character than Toby. My point is, whilst he is still at the club I believe we could utilise him and I maintain we are a better team with him than without.

Needing to win things is a bogus narrative. Paying them will stop them leaving. How many top players left United after Fergie? None, because they were coining it in.

No offence but did you see the squad Fergie left behind - there weren’t any top players left

this guy, Goal's Man City writer, reckons Man Utd are in for TA and guesses he'll end up there.

I'd be surprised, unless selling abroad (or keeping him) is not an option anymore. Surprised because we hear quite often how Spurs and Man Utd are not on great terms. Maybe the only way is if Man Utd allow one of theirs to speak to Spurs, say Martial or Shaw if those links are correct.

Forget Shaw, I would definitely take Martial though

Selling him to United is a terrible move, I can't believe it would happen. Surely we've learned enough lessons about selling to rivals.

Here’s a novel idea. If we sell him, then let’s get the replacement in FIRST. We don’t want another Walker situation where we are scrabbling round for a player then get someone in on the last day of the window. If it is to be De Ligt then get him in early and to preseason on day one. He has no World Cup so that would be ideal.

The replacement's been playing alongside Jan all season...

One of the rags has Chelsea supposedly stealing a march on UTD in the race to sign Alderweireld.

I'd suggest highly unlikely, but not impossible.

I’d be amazed if we sold to either. If they were the only possibilities I’d ratger we did a Modric and keep him one more season.

If we sell him to United or Chelsea I hope we fully accept our place as the slightly more expensive Southampton.

Unless we get players we want from united first or part of the deal. Shaw and martial would help.

When we sold Walker to City we should have insisted on Sancho being part of that deal. We should have told them to forget about it unless Sancho would be allowed to join us.

If we are considering this then we should be insisting on Martial and everything should be on OUR terms, otherwise we don't talk.
