I have a feeling it was kinda done sometime back. There is no reason no other big clubs are not going in strong with interest. Financially the big guns can offer so much more if they do.

Business done early can be a bargain too
I have been thinking exactly the same thing. It makes no sense to me why none of the big clubs have gone after him unless a deal has been done already with us.

Has JJ come in shitted on this yet? No, then it's still on.

Yeah but I’m still haunted by the injury time pooh pooh from JJ on the Keita Balde deal.

It was at a stage where most people were just awaiting the announcement.

Meltdown.

A grade 3 pooh pooh - 6 months of rehab, followed by a managed re-integration to Transfer Rumours.

I don’t think this thread could handle a repeat of that...

I think he has said that was one of the most surprising backtracks he has seen. It was literally done.

But

He said this was possible, its been building, loads of conflicting media reports, but when are they ever consistent? He hasn't dismissed this, its on.

If it was supposedly that close then possibility something came up in the medical?

Are you talking about Balde or Ndombele?

Balde went to Monaco who were then spending to compete with PSG, Balde was 35M which was a lot of money for us then, I remember it being the most maybe at the time we were going to spend on a player, Maybe i'm wrong, But Balde is now @inter on loan suggesting his career arc has not been great.

Without spending too much time off the player topic, does anyone know if Keita Balde has progressed?
That was a transfer rumour I'd set my heart on :meh:

AG said in his article that NDombele had indicated he wants to come to Spurs, getting a player to prefer to come to you over another club I would think is half the battle when trying to sign a player which would fit in with what Trix said that this window was different as we were seen as a preferred choice rather than a backup. Hercules said the same about Lo Celso. Thats three sources saying the same thing.

Just been on the phone to Sky, the woman on the other end of the line was obviously trying to read from some sort of hints screen based on what I said so she looked knowledgeable of the product when she was making conversation... asked who I supported and I answered Spurs.. a brief pause and a few clicks later and she said “ah yes, a good season they have had! And I was reading this morning that it looks like they are going to have to pay 62 million to sign.... to sign.... erm..... ‘Tangy Nungwombalay”

All I could manage was “....aww”

Based on the AG update and the Aulas comments followed by the quick rumors for Jean Lucas, things appear to be moving very quickly. I know there are very few optimists out here (I mean we’re Spurs after all), but this thing could happen this week. Too much smoke in succession, too quickly for there not to be fire ?

Tanguy could be holding up a Spurs shirt by the end of the week ??

Welcome to SC , Monsieur Ndombele

Seeing some reports in French media that deal for Jean Lucas is as good as done.

EDIT: I didn't want to risk posting foreign media links, but a google search will do it for you.
