I had high expectations when we signed Aurier but i've been left very disappointed. Not great defensively and going forward he is awful imo......I thought he was poor again last night, despite getting into decent forward positions his delivery / final ball was rubbish.

It wasn't rubbish, he put in some decent crosses that could had led to something if the attackers in the box used their brains more and attacked the near post.

It is extremely annoying how these attackers don't recognise this, they expect everything to be put on a plate for them, they forget that sometimes you have move differently in the box.

This has been a common trait of Spurs attackers for many years.

I knew his final ball wasn't great when he was in France. The disappointing thing is he was much more aggressive in taking people on, overlapping, and getting to the byline, where he'd do simple cutbacks. Since moving here, he's played it very much safe, and doesn't even seem to want to try to take a chance on using pace to take on players.

I think that would come with confidence, and confidence comes with a run of games....

It's not the first time a player gets here and doesn't do what got them bought in the first place.

A bang average, braindead player with a touch like a trampoline. I had hopes for him but he's awful.

I haven't seen much of KWP but he has to be better than this clown.

tbh I thought he was better last night, going forward his crossing was suspect but he didn't scare the shit out of me in defence, tbh I am not a fan but happy to give him a run of games to see if there is a player there. However I think KWP is a far better option than our 2 RBS atm.

Not getting enough game time to get into his stride.

Yes he's been somewhat disappointing but equally if you hardly use a player you won’t see the best of them.

I’m 100% in agreement with you. I’m not convinced by him but I’ve maintained since he’s joined that he needs a run of uninterrupted games playing for us to see what he can do. 10/15 games in a row. No Trippier.

He doesn’t have pace

Really shocking to think what our scouting process is when flush with over £50m and knowing for 6 months we would need a new RB that we waited until deadline day for this guy. It smacks of Levy thinking “ooh PSG need to sell, they are mugs, he must be a bargain” rather than who is the best available player.

To be fair to the dear departed BC he did warn us that Aurier was useless.

His final delivery against PSV was really poor throughout the game. I'd say it's rustiness from his injury and lack of game time, but it was rarely better last season. Not good enough if we want to progress.

Aurier is a strange one. I have to say I feel more assured with Trippier at RB, not in one against one situations admittedly but in terms of general play without a doubt. Aurier just never seems to look greatly comfortable with the ball, like if there's a long switch to him from the other side I'm always wondering if he'll be able to trap it down and get it out of his feet.

Despite that I'm sure he looked more reassuring before he got injured, away to Inter especially I think it was so I won't judge him on the one game. I just think when we have a flowing move and the ball comes out to Trippier, I fully expect that move to continue but with Aurier I feel that's where it might break down. Would like to see him get a run of games though.
