Werty, you're chatting bollocks pal. Literally nobody agrees with you, let it go.
I don't really care if people disagree with me. Not a single person who's giving me a disagree rating has said what part of my post they disagree with or isn't factually correct.

And it wasn't the first time he was caught out like that last night.

He was the only defender who defended that passage with any honour coming out of it, mate. Almost got the ball away and at least showed Success away from goal forcing a near post shot.

There's literally 3 or 4 players who are more responsible for that goal than Aurier. :ROFLMAO:

He recovered well, but he was in a bad position in the first place. If he wasn't the goal wouldn't have happened.

Sanchez should have done better, but this is the Aurier thread so I'm taking about him after initially giving him the benefit of the doubt.

Knockaert's chance in the game against Brighton had a similar build up. They won a long ball, it fell to one of their players and he played a ball through to a striker who made a run in behind between Alderweireld and the full-back. The vastly inferior defender, according to people on this site, stayed goal side of the striker and tracked his run correctly. He ended up losing his balance and getting knocked over too easily in the end, but he defended the situation properly.

That goal saving tackle he made towards the end of the first half was incredible. Get that wrong and it’s pen and red.

If he goes in then who is covering the free man out wide, he's trying to maintain the shape of the defence and only has to come in once Alder has been sucked in after Sanchez monumentally fucks it up. If Aurier had gone any earlier he would be getting blamed for being sucked in and leaving another man completely free, he can't win in this situation.

He would have had time to recover if the ball went out wide. You never leave in the inside man free to mark the outside guy. That's defending 101.

Yeah he was covering Success mostly though wasn't he but he has to be aware and I mean I think you're getting a lot of disagreements because you chose to air your grievances with the defending in this thread, I mean look at Alderweireld, he gets sucked in and then changes direction so he's misread the situation and then can't cut the pass out. Can Aurier do better, possibly but he's at about 5% fault for this goal.

That's not Aurier. Pochettino very much encourages his full backs to take up positions ahead of where they'd traditionally be expected to be. Aurier, Trippier, Walker, Rose and Davies have all done this during his tenure.

And that's why he gets reds!

True. Hopefully his consistency is a bit better with these tackles now. That challenge last night had to be made. The one last season at Brighton not so much. He obviously likes a risk which I like as long as they’re calculated or in scenarios like last night where they have to be made. He’s generally looked pretty solid defensively this season which, now I’ve said it, will mean he’ll get sent off next game.

When we have the ball, not when they do. Two totally different things.

Big sign of confidence making that tackle, The flack he has copped for mistiming crucial challenges in the Brighton and Juventus games, But he executed that one perfectly ! good to see, Shame he might be out for an extended period.

Any news on his injury yet?

Seems to be the usual lack of info from the club unless I’ve missed it
