I rate him. He would be better than winxy soon I believe.( I watched winks and Skipp from when they were at the u18)
Better at tackling than winxy already and he's passing is pretty good and not afraid of going forward.
You can see why poch used him for 90mins today. Hope he is ok after he came off in the end with a slight injury.

I think Skipp really understands space and looks to develop the play.
Winks seems to me more more conservative. Winks is steady. That's good too but Skipp has bigger potential for me

If we play the formation we played today then Skipp should be the rotation option at the base of the diamond. He's a better option than Dier and Wanyama there.

Winks, Skipp
Lo Celso, Ndombele
Eriksen, Sissoko
Alli, Lamela

Superb choices for those 4 midfield spots.

He should really get an opportunity, especially if Toby ends up leaving and Dier has to drop back into defence.
London buses...Last season, injury and fitness-driven for the most part, we were desperate for CMs in general, and DMs in particular. Now, there are so many options, and so much fluidity with Winks, Sissoko, Ndombele, Skipp, and Dier (CB imo) taking on defensive midfield roles when needed.

We were literally a patchwork of a midfield last season, coping with injuries, Dembele off, Wanyama done...etc.,

We had Dele and Eriksen just for starters, having to take on different roles to plug the leaks in our squad. Different gravy this season. Sort out our WBs and we're good to go against anyone.

Think this pre-season will be the making of Skipp. His performance in the last game of the season against Everton showed that he felt more at ease with his teammates and the pressure of mens football. I hope we avoid getting Ceballos, only to allow Skipp the chance to feature for us. Having Ndombele, Winks, Sissoko, Skipp, Lo Celso (hopefully)and Dier would be a good mix of CMs/DMs in a 3 man midfield. Crazy to think that he's still only 18 and has a wonderful array of experienced CM's to learn from and train with. Wouldn't surprise me if we announced a contract extension for Skipp before the team travels out to Singapore.

Still think us missing out on Ceballos will be great for Skipp. Loved the way he ran the midfield today and for Poch to trust him with 90 minutes shows how much faith he has in him. No need for a loan, as Poch is using the Winks approach to bring Skipp along nicely.

I like Skipp but Winks has really kicked on a level now imo. I think Winks can be a genuine world class player now. I'd always thought he would be decent and hold his own in the team, but honestly now I believe he can really start to kick on if he's finally over those injury niggles.

I just like like the fact we're even comparing the two. Skipp wasn't really in the frame before. All good for us.

I think Winks is more conservative because like Carrick he plays with a lot of players who don't necessarily have the best defensive discipline. If we had a proper DM next to winks you'd see how great he is with his dribbling and passing.

I'm eager to see that.I occasionally do see him hit a lovely medium pass but my overall feeling is actually he plays like Carrick. To be honest I never really understood Carricks role.It wasn't defensive or creative but it worked with a United team of stars almost like a portal recycling the ball I think.
I love what Ndombele can do and I like strong DMs. But I know how effective Carrick was without really appreciating his role to be honest.
Skipp I can understand more, than Winks,I see him searching for space and looking to create fluidity.

Different type of players which is good for our squad. Winks plays a pivot role with early touches and sharp short distribution. Skip is more of a number 8 and can certainly surge. Great that Poch gave them both a start today and in the first half we bossed possession because of them. Probably need to look past a 'starting eleven' approach this season....we truly have options. If we can get Dele fit, keep Eriksen and integrate Tunday plus use the power of Sissoko we will be a big multi competition threat

Skipp, Winks........what will take them to the top is their absolutely superb attitude and maturity.
Spot on. You can just tell these guys want it so much and will fully listen to and trust the manager and that + their ability will take them to the top at spurs. Compare that to dele and dier who for me have similar levels of a ability but poorer attitudes. I far prefer watching skipp and winks blood sweat and thunder compared to dier and dele as their attitudes really stink at times tbh.

I was at the match today. Skipp was my clear MOTM. He had grit, he had vision, and his range of passing was superb. His spatial awareneess is as good as Winks. Never seen him play like that today. The boy is special.
