I even bought a shirt with Nabil on the back that much impressed I was with him. Especially the 2-1 v Arsenal with the late Kane winner stood out for me. He completely bossed the midfield alongside Ryan Mason. Somehow he couldn't keep it up and he never helped himself with his attitude.

Well that's after some years with Benfica's B side. Hopefully he's learned his lesson. Plays as a DM if I'm not mistaken
Not sure and yes, took him a while to crack it, and I fully agree he should’ve had a better career, but at least there’s some realisation of talent.

Bentaleb was and is just a modern Vinnie Samways. Overrates himself massively so is seeing his career come to very little as he wants to be the star of the show rather than focusing on what he can do to maximise his less glamorous gifts, i.e. athleticism, physique and adequate ability on the ball. He could yet still, but he needs to realise that he’s not a Hoddle, a Modric or even an Ndombele, but he could be a Nicky Butt.

Such a shame it never worked out with us as initially in that first Poch season in particular was looking he along with Kane and Mason were going to be long stays in the team.

He was even upgraded to the number 6 shirt, but then it just went wrong for him very fast.

He was highly rated by some here ( as he himself and agents did it seems) I never saw what they did in him, I thought he was just a journeyman footballer.

He was very stylish on the ball and powerful for a skinny lad. Had the ingredients to be a top player, maybe not mentality, shame.

Had fantastic potential. Came of age at a very similar time to H, especially in that game away at Benfica where he was superb covering every blade of grass and looking a player twice his age

Saw him have some fantastic games. Shame it all went to shit for him

Lesson here is, if you want to be a superstar, you have to work for it. Perfect example: Harry Kane.
