Just had Sissoko 28/1 last goalscorer.

Seconds to go. Sissoko running through, on goal. VvD shows him onto his left peg. Kane running through in the middle free. VvD covering the pass. Sissoko... He's going to have a go you know...

SISSSSSOOOOKKKOOOO!!!! HE'S WON IT FOR SPURS!!!!! Tottenham are Champions of Europe.

If that happens, I riot (in a good way, not in a "let's burn down the carpet place on the High Road" way).

They've clearly made this award up because he was robbed of the proper club POTY award

yeah thats what i thought too

but great that the 'legends' came up with it :)

i'd guess graham roberts led it from the fact that he presented it [and was also another Tank]

I now share a rare accolade with Moussa... we've both been handed awards from legend that is Graham Roberts.

If you had told me at the start of the season that Sissoko would give away a pen in the opening minute of a CL final I would’ve thought you were insane, firstly for saying Spurs would get to the final and secondly for saying Sissoko would be starting. I’d then think it would be typical of Sissoko to do something to let the team down.

Now the seasons over I still can’t get my head around how good he’s been. Such a shame his season ended with that pen but it’s testament to how well he’s played that no one has even thought about giving him any shit (obviously helped by the fact it was a harsh pen even if you do go with the whole “letter of the law” thing.)

I hold my hands up, I never thought in a million years he’d be playing at the level he has done, on a consistent basis, this year. I can’t see him going back to the level he was showing in the first 2 years either.

Sorry Sissoko but, tbf, you were kind of crap for a couple of years but I should’ve had more faith that you’d turn it around in your 3rd. Credit where it’s due. A massively important cog now. I’d be over the moon if he maintained his current form but you never know maybe he can go up another gear next season.

I love how he’s turned it round to such an extent his action why essentially cost us the CL final isn’t even being mentioned in his player thread because he’s been so bloody immense all season he deserves no criticism at all, well that and the fact it was never a fucking pen anyway! COYS. Sissoko to be our toure next season and suddenly bang 10+ goals? With sissoko anything is possible now.

He's been great. I still don't understand why he was pointing like that in the penalty area though.

I (want to) think even Mane wishes he hadn't scooped the ball at Sissoko's arm. Yeah, they'll take the W, but it altered the tone for both sides, i think. Everything out the window at that point. all of 75 seconds in.

i love me some sissoko. my appreciation of him prior to his resurgence was probably unwarranted, and I definitely didn't see it coming. but i'll take being "right" for the wrong reasons all day :)

Looked like he was directing someone to cover if whoever it was (Mane?) decided to cut onto his left
I suspect that Liverpool's first thought from kick off was to get the ball behind Trippier, which they successfully managed after 20 seconds. Surely Poch must have realised that they would target the weak point and we should been fully prepared to expect this, but we weren't

Played for France in 2-0 loss to turkey. Tidy performance when the big players played badly. Probably done enough to get another recall but will find playing time tough with Kanté back and Ndombele growing.

If Sissoko and Ndombele can work well together in our midfield , it might tempt the French NT coach to ease Kante out of the starting squad for the NT. :D

That bit around 1:50 where he mugs off De Bruyne... fuck me, that was like Micheal Laudrup.

I've sung his praises all season, and this video just reminds how how unbelievably immense he was to our success this season.
No matter what situation the team was in, he always looked like the one player we had who could do something for the team. He was literally the player getting us out of our seats towards the tailend of the season. He violated De Bruyne there.

Be it match saving tackles or powerful runs through the middle to drive the team forward. Be it muscling tricky players of the ball or gliding his way out of tricky situations himself. I could go on but in essence He did every damn job there was to do except for goalkeeping and scoring this season. Should've won the POTY.
