I dont think Sissokos rise is much to do with being coached. He was abject on the wing, comically poor at times. Yet, the improvement when he was placed centrally was almost instant. His strengths are clearly suited to being a cm. He still has the same technical deficiencies he had before, but, they don't matter so much there. He has of course, shown great character and nerve to keep going. His effort has never been a matter for question. But in CM, he is a power house, all over the pitch and opposition cannot handle him. I dont think I have seen anyone boss him.

If he can find.time.to work on his final ball and shooting, to put a few in the net, as opposed to the higher echelons of the stadium then he goes up another level still.

But really, it's a change of position as opposed to anything else that's made him a mainstay in the center. He has had an excellent season, his industry and.commitment are lessons for everyone.

A 100% Wanyama and Winks along side Sissoko is a central midfield that will dominate most teams.

This season he has been an absolute star for us - easily one of our best players. For this to happen after a couple of years of generally terrible form is nothing short of miraculous. I really wish he was a few years younger because at the rate he is improving he would be an absolute monster. Dare I say it he looks great value now at £30 million which is something I find it difficult to believe I'm even typing.

I've gone from groaning to seeing his name on the team sheet to being worried if he isn't starting.

I dont agree with any of that. Sissoko's improvement has mostly to do with good coaching complimented with confidence. By your logic if and when he does run the wing, he would then revert to being crap wouldn't he? But guess what? He does run the wing occasionally over lapping Trippier and co and he now does a very good job of it.

Sissoko was never that bad all the time.

I remember the beginning of last season he was one of our best players at Goodison Park.

The problem is many fans refused to acknowledge his improvement and good performances for quite a long time actually. He was made a scapegoat.

Whilst obviously he’s playing better than ever currently, he was certainly trusted by Poch from the start of last season.

He’s been playing well for two seasons now. Some fans just took a long time to come to the party.

Hi mate. Occasionally, being the key point. But his main focus being cm is what has made him step up. Theres no coincidence that a lot of spurs fans groaned when his name.was on the team sheet, then after he switched centrally people were lauding his performances after a few games.

Of course he is coached. But that isn't what made him suddenly become a firm high end performer. It's the position he plays in. His end product simply isn't good enough to warrant him playing as a right sided player for the duration of a game.

Revisionist history.

Once February hit he barely even played in the league for the last 4 months of the season. Only starting 3 games in the league across February, March, April & May.

Erm, what? I didn't say he was an indispensible part of the first 11, he was a squad player last season and a rotation option, we still had Dembele then remember. It was a fact that Poch trusted him though. What exactly have I said which is untrue?

Absolute nonsense I am sorry. He played very well at times last season. Everton and Newcastle away in particularly. I remember it clearly.
Played so well Poch basically stopped playing him, you're right.

Do keep in mind this was the second half of the season where Winks didn't play a single league game in 2018 & Wanyama was crocked so out of 3 CM options for the rest of the season Sissoko only started 3 games.
