"I feel it is my natural position, even though I was playing out wide for Newcastle. From when I started playing football, my position was as a central midfielder. It is where I feel more comfortable. For different reasons managers put me on the side. I feel more confident in the middle, and I know exactly what I have to do. For me it is more easy.

Man it was so obvious he was better in the middle of the pitch, even in his stand out moments during the first few seasons, they were all central. I hope we can learn from this with Onomah who we decided to judge based on him playing out wide.

Having him slap bang in the middle of the pitch maximises his ability to be ABSOLUTELY FUCKING EVERYWHERE. If he was more productive in front of goal (which I don't blame him for not being, as his general work rate is phenomenal) he would be in with a shout for player of the season.

Completely agree with this, one of Sissoko's finest attributes is that he is a physical freak, he's hardly ever injured, he still has 3 to 4 good seasons ahead of him. Been an absolute power house this season and fall all the 'bad egg' vibe we heard about him, he seems to be very well liked by the squad. His experience and physical presence is needed in this squad. I'm still over the moon about his transition, so happy for him.
No one ever said that, you are makin it up now. Probably a misconceived perception of him by you is spilling out?

I know we’re at a point now where we’re all genuinely pleased and surprised by his progress, but if anything, he’s testimony to Poch’s ethos that you don’t sign to play at Spurs, you sign to train and then maybe, if all things align, you get to play. What’s truly remarkable for both Poch and Sissoko is that they both committed to that ethos. Sissoko had a torrid two years but he dug in when things were awful for him, was by all accounts a model professional, and bought into Poch’s philosophy. And Poch to his credit was loyal to his own philosophy- he could have sidelined Sissoko totally after his abysmal showing, but he saw something in him and worked with him. And the truly remarkable thing is that Sissoko came good when we needed him most; this season when we were short in central midfield.

It’s a wonderful tale of loyalty and resilience, resurrection and devotion. And any aspiring player going through the doldrums, or any coach frustrated by a player’s seemingly ineffectiveness should take note

Step forward, Mr Vincent Janssen.....

What?

Type in bad egg or attitude in the search bar, and you'll see there was a lot of people talking about his reputation for having a bad attitude when we signed him. We heard the same from Newcastle fans.

Yeah, I definitely remember Newcastle fans saying he only tried hard for "big games".

I am so happy for him.

For him to visibly struggle so much in those first two dark, torrid years & for him to come out the other side is a testimony to his character & perseverance. He was literally ridiculed & laughed at by his own fans yet he kept his head down & worked through it.

Sure, I also had a few "WTF was that?!" kind of moments watching him. But I kept thinking "he certainly didn't get here, to this level, by playing like that".

Anyway, he's become an integral part of the team & we're so much better for it.

Just think, if he can strike a rocket & hit the back of the net with it, what it would do to his confidence & what more will be brought out of him. There's still more to his game.

has to be player of the season, no? when was the last game he got a minute off? With our midfield woes we'd be well and truly fucked if he hadnt stepped up this season.

Yup currently between vertonghen Son and Sissoko. Although I might be taking Kane for granted.

Another huge performance from him today. I’m not sure sure what we’d have done without him this season to be honest.

Would've been crazy to think 12 months ago that whilst 1-0 down in a NLD following some poor from it would've been Moussa who'd be the one to step up and put a big performance in for the team. The engine on him is completely ridiculous. I cant remember another Tottenham player who covers ground like he can. The fact that he plays as destructive midfielder, a right midfielder and basically has to do Trippier's defensive work for him all at the same time is testament to not only his athleticism but also how switched on he his mentally. He's been a colossus for us this season and would be a well deserving Player of the Year.

Definitely player of the season, without him we’d be nowhere near CL

A real pity is that he was denied a goal today. That was as good a volley as he has ever struck in our colours.

I made Sisssoko our MOM today
having criticised him often previously
but he has rediscovered his strengths
and improved all round
He doesn't try the things
that he is weak at
shooting and long range passing for example
and Poch has found him a role,
firefighting and moving the ball more quickly
and using his strength on the ball.
His confidence has improved tremendously
and he is doing things
like dribbling in tight spaces
that he would never even try before.
Congrats all round.
