I was pleased to see how much more comfortable and confident sissoko was this evening and has been growing over the last few appearances.

Could rhythm have anything to do with it as well as being played in a role that suits?

All I can say is, what a professional. Anyone watching our game against Crystal Palace will see the level of trust Pochettinho has in Sissoko. He was everywhere and clearly working to instructions. Once again great Pro and a valuable squad member.

People such as myself have critised him because his lack of quality. He's a trier but for me that hasnt been good enough and I've been quite vocal about that.

But what I saw yesterday is a totally different player....chalk and fucking cheese different. Theres purpose to his play, he's progressive with the ball, zip in his passing, better control of the ball...

I dont know whether its just confidence or a licence to express but I like.

Starts againsts Chelsea.

It’s definitely confidence. Amazing what it can do to a player. It’s completely transformed him. How long it lasts is another question. Hopefully permanently.

Maybe our fans should take note and support players that are having a rough time rather than slag them off.

He’s always had support (although some laughing at him) in the stadium which is where it counts. When we are in there nobody wants him to have a bad game.

That moment towards the end of the match when they were all over us and he took it into the left corner (of our own goal), held their defender off, juggled the ball up to himself then bicycle-kick-smashed the volley over his head and out of danger was fucking magic. I am starting to love the guy; dude’s a WARRIOR.

Yes he remains technically woeful- but if he had bags of technique in his locker he’d have cost 70M. The fact is that he’s a Marmite footballer but fuck me is Marmite valuable when you’re starving.

Haven't seen the 90 mins from yesterday yet, but I'm really happy he's smiling and playing with confidence. I think perhaps one of the things that's helped this confidence is the diamond formation or effectively 3 in midfield. He was part of a 3 in the euros that year where he was a monster.

Regardless he's never hid (even though some of our players do) always makes himself available and works himself into the ground from 1 to 90. Perhaps this attention from other players has helped. I've always thought they have ignored him on the pitch at times almost like they don't trust him. He is limited but has definitely got bits and opposition doesn't bother him. He's not a flat track bully by any means. His opener against man city at home which we won 2-0 was full of hard work, real Madrid last year was one of his best games too. I really hope this tragectory can continue because regardless of his ability he has a great attitude on the pitch that many of our players can learn from. Having his and lamelas mentality on the pitch is saving us this year. Lucas too. Like what Kanes attidute and mentality when he's not physically and mentality sapped. I think as well the more the team accept him the better he gets.

Now all he needs is to have some composure when within shooting distance of our opponent’s goal and we might see some goals from him.

What a turnaround from him. Well done MS. ??

Poch has shown how a good coach/mgr he is by keeping faith in a player that many fans (myself included) wanted out in the last couple of seasons.

Missed the game on Saturday and have only seen MOTD highlights - which focused more on Foyth's redemption as opposed to Sissoko. By all accounts he seemed to have morphed into peak Vieira yesterday so does someone have any individual highlights? This needs to be seen to be believed!

I definitely wanted him gone. Now definitely want him to stay. Fantastic how hard he works and how he's turned it around. Well done MS.

Im sorry to say this is absolute rubbish. Groans when he touched the ball (after 30 seconds when naff all has happened), moans when he was subbed on, laughing and jokey cheering when he was subbed off. He wasn't at his best ( pretty poor some weeks) but he was regularly better than some much loved team mates, who got zero slack.

Last season was far from supportive at Wembley for Moussa.

What a turn around, I felt sorry for him before as he always tried hard for the shirt but he could barely control a ball...now he looks a player...

Unbelievable Jeff.
