Yeah. This isn’t the Olympics. You’re either the winner or you’re on a sliding scale of losers.

The fact is people will always refer to this as “England made the semi final” not “England finished 3rd” or “England finished 4th”.

I Never understand this mentality. Would love to finish 3rd.

Finish 3rd means a lot imo - probably because i'm austrian and there is still talk that we finished 3rd in 1954 :ROFLMAO:
Been a lot to croatia and they still talk about finishing 3rd in 1998 (that will change now i guess )

Im Swedish and the 3rd place 1994 is still conciderd one of this countries biggest sporting success since the 2nd place 1958.

The Chinese league transfer window closes today so I highly doubt Dembele and llorente are going there.

Di Marzio saying Dembele might now see out the rest of his contract (shit translation for now until the English article is published):

https://gianlucadimarzio.com/it/inter-dagli-esterni-di-difesa-a-malcom-il-punto-sul-mercato

Despite the various purchases completed, Inter remains vigilant on the market. In midfield, a new scenario opens in the future of Dembélé, which remains at Tottenham until the end of the contract, and then go away to zero parameter. So it is said that it starts, even after the end of the Chinese market.

Not sure that's good for us, tbh.

Curious if this is being pushed by his agent or Inter trying to force us to sell. This year has been an amazing year of getting just about everything wrong by Di Marzio.

Inter are unwilling to meet Tottenham’s £25 million asking price for Mousa Dembélé, the midfielder who has one year left on his contract with Spurs and is unwilling to agree a new one.
Of course they are, Italian clubs are stingy outside of highly dubious circumstances, looking at you Turin.

He's clearly worth £25m or thereabouts in this market (particularly in a slow Italian league, where him slowing the game down will be praised to high heaven) and there's no chance we will keep him unless he signs a new deal. Which we may not even want.

Not being able to shift out Dembele would be pretty disappointing. Love what he's done for us, but pretty clear from all we've been told he doesn't want to play at this level/tempo anymore and we should be aiming for better at this point in his career.

We’ll sell him and not replace is my guess
