Great servant to the club, just wish we had him when he was younger. Don't know when next, if ever, we'll see such a perfect mix of brute strength and delicate skill at the Lane again
We bought him when he was 24?

PS we won

in spite of Sissoko being on the pitch. That's the point being made. Dembele is 5 times the player that Sissoko is. How many people shit it when Sissoko is on the ball versus Dembele being on the ball. If your CM can't be trusted with the ball then Ur fcuked

sorry to see my man go but DL will want some kind of fee this summer. We need to find someone combative who can hit a pass as well- this signing is more important than Toby or Llorente's replacements. Especially with Wanyama and Winks struggling physically. Before the WC please.

Any thoughts of Milinkovic-Savic as a replacement for Dembele?
I like the look of him, as he has the ability to turn defenders, good technically, albeit haven't watched much of him.

Theres a thread on him already, he's amazing but likely too expensive. He has the possibility to be the most expensive transfer of the summer.

Sad to see Moussa off, but I don’t think there’ll be bad blood at all, he has been a fantastic servant and an outstanding talent, unfortunately we want to play a certain way and by all accounts he is admitting himself that he will struggle to continue play our system...

If we can get £30m-ish for him (maybe more if a China move comes in??) then we can look to reinvest that in a quality replacement...think we will need another player too, maybe a younger one as like an understudy...

Kovacic or Rabiot would be my A1 replacement...partner him with either De Jong, Diawara, someone like that...having those 2 plus Winks and Wanyama, plus Dier too, will give us some really good options going forward in midfield!

Totally agree, disappointed to see Dembele go, but looks as if he is all but gone according to his agent. Hopefully that move to China materializes and we get the large fee to invest into his replacement.

I think having a healthy Winks back will really help out our midfield, he was greatly missed towards the end of the season (especially not having him available to come on against United, City and Juventus). Additionally, I hope Onomah comes back from his loan to Villa and can prove to Poch that he deserves to stay with the first team rather than go out on loan.

Report: Ancelotti meets agent of Spurs star in London

Carlo Ancelotti continues to be hard at work in the opening days since being announced as Napoli's new coach. According to the Gazzetta dello Sport, he was in fact seen in the English capital with Kia Joorabchian, a powerful Anglo-Iranian agent, with whom he spoke of Moussa Dembele.

The Tottenham midfielder would like to change the air after six years at Spurs, and he would be willing to move to Naples. His contract is set to expire in 2019, and both the transfer fee and salary should not be prohibitive (about 4 million euro per season).

Dembele would be a massive addition for the Partenopei, particularly in light of the current transfer links of midfielders Jorginho (Manchester City) and Marek Hamsik (Chinese Super League). Dembele has been a constant in the Tottenham midfield unit, appealing 28 times in the Premier League this season. His next action will come in Russia with the Belgian National Team.

Yeah I'm aware. But he wasn't key to the side til he was about 27. I meant to say I wished he'd hit his peak at a younger age, or sustained it for longer.
Not sure if I’d agree with that, he was absolutely key to the side when partnered with Sandro in the middle for that first or second season, until the big man got broken :(

I think the time is right to let him go. He struggles to be fit and when he is he rarely gets through 90mins.

Great player, really turned it around under Poch and will be sad to see him go.

I think it would be madness to sell him, Still has a good 2-3 years at a good level to offer us.
