For a fast player he seems very slow. Never seems To out run anyone over a distance. About as effective as Lamela too

Moura has excellent attributes used wrong. He needs to mix up his game and learn to run without the ball. The goals he scored against United at old Trafford we hardly see that movement enough

I just dont think Poch has used him correctly. I love Lucas and think he does try to do the unpredictable and take players on breaking through the lines... unfortunately he is always crowded out

Im not sure it’s off the pitch stuff. He seems a very easy going, happy guy. To me, it’s more that the coaching team have taken this guy who’s been a pretty orthodox right winger for most of his career and have tried to retask him into a more modern all-round wing forward.

I think he’s been asked to do a lot of different things than he’s been used to, and it has been difficult for him to adapt. We may see the benefits of it next season though.
Never assume everything is all rosey just because they look happy and smiley. They could be hiding something, or battling something deep down. He might be struggling to still settle down off the pitch, who knows? What you see on tv and social media, isn't what you always get.

He's better as a winger where he has space, Poch hasn't played him there so he isn't playing up to his potential. We've seen him play well on the wing, not so much as a #10. He's still our third leading scorer in the league.

Its also important to have some context amongst our rivals. We have better options in Lamela & Lucas than Liverpool do in just Shaqiri off the bench. ManU bring off Mata and Alexis Sanchez. Arsenal, who at AM? Chelsea have Pedro and Barkley for AM options. I'd take Lucas and Lamela over all of those teams options. Only City offers more off the bench in this position.

CM, RB, LB, DM and backup striker are way, way higher priorities than replacing these two.

I remain unconvinced about him. Would love him to prove me wrong but he seems to be very hit and miss and sadly mostly miss.

Honestly I just think he isn't all that. I have a mate who's a PSG season ticket holder -- when I was excited that we were signing him he told me he's good for a goal here or there but that he doesn't know how to fit into a team pattern and his passing is very poor. Haven't seen much to disagree with him on -- I think Moura has 1 assist since joining the club.

What has surprised me is that his close control and dribbling doesn't actually seem that good. He overruns the ball all the time, and only seems useful when he has a lot of space in front. Almost like you can't rely on youtube videos to tell you the truth!

I guess he may still be adjusting, but weirdly he seems quite OK with the physical side of the game, his problems are technical. I haven't seen much to make me think he's going to make it with us. People say that with Son he looked poor early on, but you could see what he had, even if it was fleeting. Over a year into his time at the club and I don't really know what Lucas's strengths are, or what his position is.

I said in one of the match threads a while ago that for a Brazilian international and a supposed top level player his first touch is actually quite poor.

Can’t help think though that we would be better served playing him as a genuine wide man rather than a false number 9 as Poch has done in plenty of his appearances.

Yeah his touch isn't great. I certainly got a bit seduced by those videos of him in brazil beating players for fun with mad tricks, but I can't even remember the last time he successfully dribbled past someone

And we don't really play with traditional wide men, do we?

for whatever reason he's only played 117 minutes in the prem since December. I know he had a knee injury. He had 6 goals in the first half of the season. If he was able to duplicate that the second everyone would consider him a resounding success.

I think Lucas needs match minutes in the right place. We are going back to an era where we forced fit players to make a formation (that isn't working) work

No we don’t, but I think even reverting back to a 4-2-3-1 and having him play a bit wider is better then attempting to make him a striker/false number 9.

An infuriating result yesterday, but good to see him back in the starting line-up and looking like a threat again.

Worth pointing out that he's now scored important second half goals at Old Trafford, Anfield and the Nou Camp this season - in fact 7 of his 10 goals for us since joining have come away from home.

I would like to spurs follow England set up and have Son and Lucas either side of Kane. with Kane dropping back and both running though with their pace

He was my man of the match along with Toby but think Lucas nicked in ahead.

He was very good and caused them problems.

A great performance from him. Huge amount of talent. Hopefully he can kick on next season and become as important as Son.
