I like him but feel the spot we took up we were crying for absolute top class and we took the cheap option.

That was Nkoudou & Njie. Lucas is a perfectly acceptable 5th string attacking midfielder. He's provided plenty of goals which we haven't seen from our 5th AM for as long as I've seen from Spurs. He's a streaky player but most wingers are and there's a reason he was bought for 25 and not 50mil.

Grown up response.

He’s done okay, I'd like a bit more, but do appreciate that he's come to the Premier league from PSG, that must be quite a shock after basically playing for the annual French champions who seldom face noteworthy opposition.

Although it's often said that players need time to adjust, I'd have hoped a year would be long enough.

I also remember it wasn't all that long ago I posted that he stood at pretty much a goal in every 3 matches.

Certainly decent for the fee involved. Feck me, he was only a few quid more than Dominic Solanke.

Bit of Poch magic, he'll be all good.

Yeah see this is my issue, you see him as an acceptable 5th string attacking midfielder. I wanted a player who was going to be like Son and break into our first 11 on the right side so we could have Son - Kane - RW. Preferably somebody who could play across the 3 and I wanted us to make the attempt and pay the premium for somebody who could come in and do that. I wanted Keita Balde or Malcom on that right side.

I agree with you he's an acceptable 5th but that's his ceiling, I wanted us to see that free spot as somebody with a far higher ceiling than that.

I think Keita Balde has been a pretty big bust ever since leaving Lazio.

I personally wish we would see more of Lucas at RW rather than a second striker. He's been played out of position for the majority of the season in a completely new role. I think a lot of people overlook that.

Yeah he looked immense at Lazio, I didn't want to rewrite history and pretend I didn't want him though, Poch himself has said he was very keen to get him. I agree with you on Moura, he hasn't played the position I expected. Especially if we have Sissoko and Aurier in the team I feel he can be great on that right side but so far I still feel how I felt when we signed him which was, that spot should have been for a big big signing. He's chipped in with some really important goals though and I hope he can play well enough to no longer be 5th attacking choice.

Although he was younger, it's worth remembering that Sonny's performances were similar in his first year here. Goals, but a lot of hot and cold stuff. Not saying that Lucas is as good as Son, just that it can take a bit of patience sometimes.

Very happy with him although I’m expecting him to get better too.

Scored a good amount of goals for the minutes he’s played.

Still prefer him on the right rather than up top / left wing.

Son was almost on his way out at the end of his first year. His second year was a big improvement (although still patchy)... his third year onwards he has become consistently impressive and key to our play...

We all want players to come in and hit the ground running but Sometimes it Just takes time

He has had some moments this season that made him stand out(Utd game) and moments where he has looked lacking, another season with us will be a true reflection. I don't think he has the strength to play against big centre backs and putting him on the wing is probably a better option than through the middle.

1st 8 months getting fit enough.
2nd Season getting used to the sheer physicality of the Premier League.
3rd Season will be the teller.

There's good reason Poch sits on the transfer fund - it's a 2-3 year turnaround to play in his teams proper - look at Sissoko.

When you put it like that he's only really been here a year, think he's done well considering the circumstances.

Oh so now he's scored those that were doubting him are now up his arse again, I see how this works.

I don’t see anything wrong with that.

When a player plays badly, fans moan - you complain.

When a player plays well, fans ring praises - you complain.

Fans spend a lot of their hard earn money supporting the club , be it on match tickets, club merchandise or anything else related to the club. They have the right to moan when players have poor games or brain farts.

Where I draw the line is calling the players names or using vulgar words.

PS - you don’t need to reply to my post.

Is Lucas good enough atm for where we are and want to go? As a squad player, definitely imo.

Maybe he wasn’t the ‘uber’ signing but he has also showed the difference between a 25m experienced player and an n’punt, both from the same league.

Lucas ain’t perfect but he’s won games and points for us and had some top drawer performances at times. Well worth that extra 10-15m over another bargain basement duffer. And sure we haven’t seen the best of him either.

I like what I've seen so far and think we have possibly seen his best. He sometimes isn't that special but he just needs to be more often at that top level that he has.
