Really think we should be considering playing more with a 3-5-2 / 3-6-1 (or variants thereof), I love Trippier and Rose as wing-backs. I think we really have the players to suit this and can only really think of one game when we played 3 at the back and lost last season (Chelsea in the cup).

My opinion is that Trippier's vision and delivery are on another planet from anything Walker has ever came near as a footballer and can more than make up for their physical differences. Give me footballers over athletes any day (and Trippier is far from slow and isn't shy of a tackle), yes Walker's lightning, but for me he switches off a lot defensively and his positional deficiencies and often masked by his pace. A bit of Forrest Gump about Kyle IMO.

I'd say Trippier could be one of our more underrated players, with Walker being one of our more overrated (NOT saying he's not a good player by any means) and would say if he's wanting out, then to cash in on him.

Alongside Trippier's potential to improve (as most players seem to do under Poch), there are plenty of good fullbacks out there and Walker-Peters looks really promising too.

BBC reporting he's signed a new 5 year deal, nothing on OS though strange.....

Kieran Trippier signs five-year deal at Tottenham to commit until 2022

Tottenham full-back Kieran Trippier has signed a new five-year contract, committing to the club until 2022.
The 26-year-old joined Spurs from Burnley for £3.5m in 2015 and has played 41 times over two seasons.

It comes after Manchester City opened talks with Spurs about the signing of fellow defender Kyle Walker.
Trippier played 12 times for Mauricio Pochettino's side in last season's Premier League and made his England debut against France in June.

Edit: BBC have changed their wording from "signed" to "agreed" so likely nothing on the OS until its officially signed. Someone's jump the gun there lol

According to the lastest ITK. Trippier is now first choice.

FFS! :banghead:

Thank god it's just ITK.

Erm what?

He was pretty darn tasty for us at end of last season so what's the problem?

Is it because he's not quite as glamorous sounding?

If we were in this situation with Wapker and targeting Trippier whilst he was at Burnley would have been happy about it - when we signed him it was very much to compete with Walker and not just understudy him, just happens Walker kept the spot until
Trippier got edge later in last season.

BBC, Sky, Times and the Sun saying he's signed a new deal. The first two led with 'breaking news' for it.. but Spurs haven't announced it.

I'd take 50 Million, Trippier and a promoted KWP over Walker, Trippier and KWP farmed out on loan.

Trippier' attacking intelligence outweighs Walker's speed of recovery for me. Especially as a wing back. We can accept him getting skinned by top drawer wingers every now and then if he chalks up the assists like he did last year.

He is not good enough in a back 4. In 3-5-2, fine.
His defending is atrocious sometimes.

Did you guys forget the start of last season, where he got his chances? Special in the Europa League, where he got his ass kicked by some tier3/4 winger.

Sorry but we're selling one of the best RB's in the world for this.. But if we're gonna play 4-3-3 next season, Poch will probably move Dier to RB.

Everyone reporting it, but no #PochPose yet.

Not sure how I feel about this. Standing for the #pochpose? It's just not right.

Also, no suit. Kyle Walker didn't get a suit pose. No suit, no future.

Also also... This is fucking ridiculous Levy. You've clearly sold Poch's chair from under him without getting in an adequate replacement. We're gonna be left without a leg to sit on.

We've known about this for almost 3 weeks now, why have they waited this long to announce it?

Such a fucking pointless circus sometimes. If he's signed da ting, announce it. Don't wait around and announce it further down the line because fuck all else is happening.

I hope we get liquidated, I mean it. Don't @ me

You put something like this up on Facebook and you have to spend the rest of the afternoon explaining yourself...

Delighted for him, has earned his chance, looks so excited in the bid also and must have fantastic work ethic, he will lead all defenders next year with assists
