I never thought i’d see the day where not gifting a goal for once is considered a “good game” but here we are. He did well early to get stuck in but ultimately, he ended up getting rinsed a few times at the back and was absolutely brutal going forward. In fact, it’s been awhile since he did anything in attack.

He’s always targeted for very good reason. He’s slow, easily beaten one on one, is a poor defender when he’s even in position yet he’s much more liable to be wildly out of position, and is prone to give the ball away in bad areas. He spectacularly fails every test so they keep targeting him.

He was fine today, dealt with Iwobi well. Crossing is a mixed bag lately, needs to recapture that if he doesn’t want me calling him a **** from pitchside.

Kieran did well today. He has drawbacks but his crossing would be very hard to replace.

Of course he shanked one today and held his head in his hands afterwards. Unusual for him but everyone makes mistakes- except posters on Internet forums.

except today they didnt score because of his mistake, it was because of Sanchez. He put some nice balls in today including the free kick that led to Kane's disallowed goal. He definitely created more from his side than Rose. Im ready for Trips to move on or get demoted but if you want to single him out today you are just piling on.

the commentator made an interesting point today. forget his name but he was talking about Beckham and how he was one of the best crossers and dead ball specialists of his era, who he played against. His point was Beckham made lots of bad kicks but he made 2 or 3 a game that were fantastic and often changed the game.

I don’t think he had that bad a game. Not great but certainly not awful. Especially first half, everything seemed to go through him, rightly or wrongly. I felt sorry for him when he shanked that cross, the moan from the crowd was deafening. If he didn’t know there were some fans against his general inclusion in the team, he probably does now.

He’s certainly better in a back 5 but I wouldn’t be against upgrading. He does infuriate me like Walker used to do when he should put in an early cross but doesn’t and plays back or sideways instead.

Anyway, he wasn’t the worst player by far today. I don’t think our tactics help him either. I really don’t think he’s as bad as some of you think he is but the bottom line is we have 2 ok/average RB’s (and 1 pretty untested one) after having the best set of fullbacks a couple of years ago. I really thought Aurier was a steal at £25M but he hasn’t proved himself either. We need to upgrade in a few departments and this is just one of them.

Trippier is pretty bad defensively, if not for Sissoko basically doing his defending I dread to think. Trips that bad i'm afraid it's like playing with ten men. He might be ok when the teams buzzing and we're attacking he basically a winger being asked to play wingback (when last has he made a sliding tackle). Trippier owes Sissoko big time, who'd of thought that.

I do worry about Aurier and KWP they both can't seem to shift him

He was far from our worst today. Better defensively but his distribution, his strength, was poor.

Must be pretty hard though to look up and see absolutely no movement ahead of you.

Yep. For a game plan that clearly relied upon getting it wide to Trippier or Rose, we rarely had more than one player in the box.

Really miss Dele and his runs from deep.

I agree that Trippier wasn’t bad or amongst the worst performers in the NLD but if we look throughout the season, he and Aurier are not good enough for a team that really wants to provide a challenge for the PL title.

I’m keeping my options open for KWP and I would like Poch to give him more playing time on the right of defence, just like how he has played trippier and Aurier. KWP is primarily a RB but keeps being played on his weaker left side in most games that he has played in for the senior team.

I could have killed him after he wasted a pass of the match from Harry with a cross that was closer to me in the opposite stand than it was to the penalty spot. He had so much time and space to pick a pass and he just seemed to leather it. I wouldn’t mind but did the fact that his passing/ crossing seems to be the on facet of his play justifying his existence.

I wouldn't say he had a terrible game, just below average but his main strength is meant to be his crossing and that was absolutely woeful. There were so many times I was shouting "just fucking cross it" at him yesterday and when he finally did it was normally shit.

He feels like somebody who needs a move to me, I think his confidence is shot and we can't afford to let him play his way into it this season.

It doesn't help that NO-ONE attacks the front post when we're in crossing positions. Kane always lingers at the back post waiting for a mistake and no-one else bothers.

The crowd reaction to that cross in the second half was like being in the Matchday thread. There was some real nastiness in it by quite a few of the people around me. Was taken back by it to be honest.

His performance was average (not good and not bad) but given the situation, we needed players to give more. I can't say that I'm a fan of trippier as he only really performs when we have 3 at the back but that consequently means we have fewer attacking options for him to aim at. Even if we have a player like Walker who infuriated me with his charging up the right and then stop and pass back 5 yards, his pace puts defenses on the back foot and makes them less cautious to try and commit numbers forward. I think at the moment teams are isolating Trippier when he gets the ball out wide, by stopping the cross they are stopping his game.
