Id like to see him given another opportunity at rb vs brighton just to see if its a legit option

Do think if Foyth was at Ajax he would be talked about as one of the best youngsters

Think he deserves more game time. Needs to hit the gym though. How many CBs in the PL have his composure on the ball?

It's not his composure that worries me. I think he's supremely talented and will go on to be one of the world's best with us or without. My worry is his awareness of the opposition and being a little too calm on the ball.

There was a sequence today where he won the ball back almost on the by line and feigned a clearance to pass inside to Wanyama which was very accomplished. Then about 2 minutes later he brings the ball out on the right in second gear and gets chased down by Sane who wins it back and starts a City attack
He has a lot to learn. I wish we could put Sanchez and Foyth in a blender and get out a combination of the two.

Be interesting to see what he could do in an attacking sense. Pochettino said he played there when he was young. Likely will play West Ham if Aurier not back. Probably spells the temporary end for kwp likely go on loan. We certainly don’t need x3 RB in the squad if foyth can cover that well. He also faced pretty much the toughest test he’s likely to face at RB in PL.

I highly doubt Poch intends to play him at RB/RWB regularly. With Toby on his way, Foyth will have a lot more games at CB next season. If anything I think we're more like to sell Aurier or Trippier and promote KWP, using Foyth as an auxiliary 3rd option.

Yeah, It's unfortunate for KWP but Foyth was solid defensively vs very good opponents today, I'm of the opinion that Foyth is going to be world class but he lacks that defensive awareness which isn't surprising as he came up as a number 10 if I remember correctly, so having him as RB is an opportunity for him to get some much needed defensive experience whilst not being relied upon as the focal point of our defence. KWP unfortunately for me has made a lot of defensive errors when he has played and I value that part of the fullbacks game over ability going forward.

To be fair, it's a bit easier to defend against width with an extra man in a back three, especially against a side who stretches sides and use width like City do. Foyth did pretty well there, but it's clear he's hasn't played out wide much at all in his career, he just doesn't look natural there (like he does at centre half IMO).

Think Poch had set us up yesterday to settle for a 0-0 or nick a 1-0, while on Wednesday he expected them to score and knew we'd need some away goals, hence why we were a lot more open. Poch did well tbh.

The main thing was he didn’t dive in at all, especially in the box, which obviously has been a weakness this season. And when he did try and nick it off two extremely rapid players like Sterling and Sane, he generally got it. Big Dav also came across and gave him some excellent cover, too.

He could get away with diving in a bit more out wide, we rattled a good few of them yesterday which was good to see, as I do think Poch deliberately picked a more physical side (bullying players isn't KWP's game) to try and disrupt City...which kind of worked.

Again, with injuries etc. It wasn't too bad against the side with the highest % points taken from available in all of the top leagues in the World.

It’s a bit like Gomez at Liverpool. Played the RB role and his confidence grew. Could see the same pathway for Foyth.

Newspaper ratings are rarely accurate and don’t irk me, but I notice he got a rather generous 5.5 in the Daily Mail.

That’s right; according to whichever “journalist” of theirs “watched” the match, Foyth was the joint worst player on the pitch.

Staggering.

Thought he had a good game. He is still raw but has great ability on the ball and confidence. Considering he's had a few cock ups go heavily against him his confidence doesn't seem effected. I think he could be a star in the next couple of seasons.
