I think we should trust in Poch - Dier’s first season in midfield worked very well.

Foyth at RB will be an upgrade on Trippier imho - as mentioned above he kept Sterling very quiet when deployed on the right.

He's going to Singapore but Davinson isn't. Eventhough Argentina made is further than Colombia.

Guessing because we are short on RB options with no Serge

Maybe he wants to go. With what you read about him paying for scouting tools and putting everything into being the best he can be, I would certainly think that makes sense.

Foyth sounds like he lives and breathes football. He seems well integrated with the group, wouldn't surprise me if he asked Poch if he could come back early.

Foyth is going on the tour to get competitive game time playing in the right-back position. With news coming out that we dont intend to replace Trippier, I think its become more and more obvious that Foyth will be our starting RB this season.

Any chance he becomes HG after this season. He is 21 already but is the rule three full seasons, including the last one if he was 21 at any point? I doubt it but anyone hotter on these things than me?

Really impressed with Foyth's decision to come back early.
Reckon it shows how eager he is to make a big impression this season and it's easy to see why Poch likes him so much.

Hes got plenty of ability but also appears to have the desire and dedication required, to make it to the very top.
He a player that I'm really excited to see this season.

I tell you what, there's one thing you can't criticise about the kid and that's his dedication and commitment to getting the best out of himself.

He's, what, about a week out from getting married and due more time off after international duty, but instead of spending, err, 'quality time' with his new wife on a honeymoon he'll be reporting early, out with the team on the other side of the world. Fair play to the guy.

Point is he’s no where near the type of level full back to play in a starting XI for a team pushing for the title (and he’s not even a FB, he’s learned to play the game at CB). Maybe if we had no choice, then ok. If Aurier and Tripps are deemed not good enough, and we’re looking at players like Ndombele for MF, the we need a proven (or even world class RB) such as Cancelo

Didn’t he play somewhere else before CB anyway.. seems adaptable and a great technician

I know we are all hyping him up now much like we did with Trips when Walker left but I am very disappointed that we arent buying a top RB and instead we are converting Foyth.

He isnt a top RB and has too many mistakes in him currently. Everyone will be moaning about him this coming season.

I hope he shocks me and is amazing but I dont see it.

why is Foyth in this forum when he isn't for sale
There was some itk about him something like 100 years ago, don't remember what but wasn't anything to do with him being moving so dont worry. Still don't understand why this is here but anyway.

Come on man, the kid is 21 and just starting out at RB so to go on about too many mistakes is a bit of an over reaction. He is dedicated, getting in the international team and technically gifted. Yes he may not be 9/10 or 10/10 this year. But i'm pretty confident if he plays regularly in this position he will perform and could be a real player there or CB in a few years.

Young players have to start somewhere and anything on Trippier of last year is an upgrade, the guy was so below average and excelled at nothing other than pointing randomly at things and blaming others when he made a mistake.

I'm quite excited to see what Foyth can do in this position, Verts is similar to the kid in technique, speed etc. Ok a massively experienced version, but i love seeing him as full back. So why not.

The main reason I feel positive about this is the absolute dearth of RBs I can think of wanting us to sign externally.

Not sure where this idea that he’s slow comes from, because he absolutely isn’t and it’s a last comment to make based on him being lanky and having a languid style. He may not be Walker fast but as long as he reads the game well and uses his body well, he’s more than fast enough.
