I think the players not wanted have been told not to report Onomah Edwards Nkoudou janssen and possibly even Rose. Maybe Pochettino doesn’t want any negative vibes around the place. I guess they must think trippier may stay. Rose is a strange one. If injury surely they’d have said like Dier.

Had real high hopes for this kid when I saw him in youth football and breaking into the first team. He still has time, but this is a massive season for him, or he might end up in obscurity.

JOSH ONOMAH has been frozen out by Spurs.

But the £10million-rated midfielder could be the latest young English player to move to the Bundesliga in Germany.

Manager Mauricio Pochettino has dumped Onomah, who has made 32 appearances for Tottenham, into the club’s under-23s.

Onomah, 22, has been stunned by Pochettino’s decision to be moved away from the first-team and will leave this summer.

Borussia Monchengladbach, Mainz, Augsburg and Frankfurt have all shown an interest, as the demand increases in Germany for young Premier League stars.

Onomah has made 32 appearances for Spurs but only seven of those have been starts – and none came in the Premier League.

He had a loan season at Aston Villa in the 2017-18 campaign but last term’s stint at Sheffield Wednesday was ruined by hamstring injuries and he only made 15 appearances.

Weird that he's been frozen out, looked like such a promising talent. Good luck to him if he does go to Germany.

Hope he becomes world class tbh. He should have been integrated in central midfield properly, especially after his performances at the world cup.

He clearly wasn’t ever deemed good enough mate.
Which is rubbish because he was the best player at that tournament (from watching the matches) and then didn't even get a chance in the pre-season matches after it. He was also clearly the outstanding prospect in the academy (alongside Edwards) - so much so, that other clubs were circling trying to get him. We don't know how good he could have been because he never actually got a chance to play in a match in central midfield. For some reason it was the bench or right wing. I will always believe that we got this one wrong

He's been on loan numerous times and been shite each time. What more can the club do when he doesn't take the chances given to him?

I respect your right to an opinion but Poch would have had the player in many training sessions and practice matches and not seen what you’re seeing. I trust his opinion.

I also can’t really think of many players he’s let go of where we’ve regretted it. We had the same sort of posts on here when we let Bentaleb go.

I also watched that World Cup and my own view is that he dominated youth levels because of his superior physicality over his peers. He’s never looked a particularly solid passer of the ball and that is fundamental for a central midfielder. It’s a key reason why Winks is in the first team.

Not true.

We have had information previously from posters on here which suggested that academy players are categorised into potential and Josh was always in the top category.

Yeah sure, but potential is potential.

It just means the academy coaches rate you and your chances to succeed. It doesn’t mean Poch thinks you’re a first team player. There are many steps in between those two posts.

I understand a lot of Spurs fans wanted him to succeed as he was one of our own but tbh I never really saw what everyone else did. Didn’t really light up the championship on loan so I personally felt he wasn’t good enough, even Villa who he spent some time with, so should know all about him, don’t seem to be interested in buying him and they’ve spent a lot since returning to the PL. I don’t think he’s good enough for a top 4 side and a side striving to win the league. I hope we get a decent fee from a German team should he go there.

Like with most of our outgoings, you can't rave about our manager being one of the best we've ever had and call him 'magic' , watch him take us to CL finals and top 4 finishes, and then moan that he hasn't given X player a chance and that X player is really good and should be playing regularly for us and Poch is wrong. if his judgement wasn't so good we wouldn't be doing what we are doing.

Fwiw as an easy example, it's abundantly clear that both Winks and Skipp have an enthusiasm, a bit of 'get up and go' in their attitude, a 'drive' that you can see every time they play. It's appealing to the manager. On the dozen or so occasions i saw Onomah in a senior match he never once displayed that same trait. Which may be why or partly why he's fallen away. I wish him well if he leaves and will be intrigued to see what he can achieve, but if i had to bet on it, i'd definitely say 'nowhere near a top 4 side'.
