Dan Kilpatrick I think heard it was a small injury
I think it started from people at the ground assuming it must have been an injury. Dan was still tweeting it well after Sky had already asked Poch before the game.

The Dutch don’t hold back. They speak their mind. Sometimes come across as arrogant. Edgar D@vids once had a fight with Martin Jol at training.
Nothing wrong with a frank exchange of views as it were. I’m sure Kane has plenty to say at times

What about people from Belgium, do they hold back?

Dan commented on it about a minute after the teamsheets was announced ?‍♂️

Sounds like Dan was given info to say “small injury” he could have been sick. All very odd. And strange we’ve had no itk either but fully expect to see him smiling in training photos tomorrow.

Not a bad idea really... Younger players who haven’t peaked yet have greater potential for improving and also generating a profit if we choose to sell.

It’s a fabulous idea if all we are interested in generating profit. Not such a great idea if we actually want to win trophies.

By the time a lot of these young players peak other top players are reaching thus “ need to sell to maximise value” age.

I presume you’d be fine if in 3 years time when Son is 30 and Kane is 29 we look to do the same?

Could this be a case of Poch wanting to save his best CB for another game without stating publicly “I’m saving him for City and it’s not so risky to give Davinson some time against Villa”?

I see your point, maybe it’s it’s a bit of a balancing act. I would say Kane is irreplaceable, Verts we can probably bring in or coach on others to fill the role.

What if Pochettino saw this as an opportunity to give Jan a rest and have Man City confused as to who they need to prepare for in defense? Jan and Sanchez have two incredibly different styles of defending. With the comments made by Poch after the match, Pep might be wondering if Jan could actually get back in the side.

Also, I also would like to think that Jan told him the diamond formation sucked, Poch saw first hand it sucked and now realizes Jan is right and Jan is God and should be started.

Davids had a fight with Robbie Keane, Jol would've killed him!
And Jan's not Dutch.

Some suggestion that he was going to be on the bench, but he was a bit annoyed, so he was removed from the squad. Sorry if already posted.

Maybe Jan is just a bit like me and he wasn't available to play because he was having a terrible stomach flue, but he felt ashamed about it and didn't want anyone to know, so he did something to piss off Poch in an attempt to force him into leaving him out of the squad last saturday. I just hope he hasn't overplayed his hand a bit too much.

Jan Vertonghen dropped against Aston Villa because of his fitness levels and pre-season. Pochettino wanted to make a statement . More @TimesSport
