His penalty save against Arsenal is the only reason we’re in CL next season atm.

He’s also about to be a World Cup & Champions League winning captain soooooooo

Why? Sure if people were booing him at games, or shouting at him at the street I would agree, but why is expressing your opinion on a football forum 'shithead behaviour'? are we only allowed positive viewpoints now?

Because the talk from some naive dunderheads has been as if he’s some calamitous ‘keeper on Gomes’ level. Some gurus have even had the temerity to suggest he should be dropped for Gazzaniga.

Maybe don’t say stupid shit like “are we only allowed positive viewpoints now?” as well, that’s obviously not what I said. He is a World Cup winning, world class goalkeeper that we are lucky to have, and that we couldn’t possibly upgrade - it is entitled shithead behaviour to expect more. There are 3, maybe 4 ‘keepers better than him in the world.

I really struggle to see how you inferred what you did from my post. I said “fans that have been laying into” - not “fans that have been putting forward well-thought critiques”. Weird that you took offence to it really, unless you know you’ve been a shithead.

See there you go again - 'it's entitled shithead behaviour to expect more'. I, like many others, disagree that he's still world class, and think we could improve in that area. That doesn't make us shitheads. Aside from the odd heat of the moment remark the majority of the criticisms levelled at Lloris have been well reasoned opinions based on what we've seen over the last 2 seasons. Maybe those opinions are wrong, but it doesn't make us shitheads for holding them.

It makes you shitheads if you talk about him in a disrespectful way, slandering him. Hence "laying in".

Thinking we can improve in the goalkeeper area isn't shithead behaviour, it's just delusional nonsense. Also wrong to think he's not world class, he was captain of the world cup winning team if you missed that. Some of you lot need a fucking massive reality check. Making 1 or 2 mistakes doesn't make you not world class, ask de Gea.

Surely that's a subjective opinion regarding who is world class, I see that word being thrown about so many times and Everton has a different meaning.

I don't care what Everton thinks, tbh.

It's sort of subjective, but if you can't name 10 people in the world better than a player in his position, I feel super safe calling them world class.

Lol did you watch the World Cup final? He made an unbelievable cock up and cost his team a goal. Personally I'd argue that it's delusional to believe he's only made 1 or 2 mistakes, and that there might not be a keeper out there who is better suited to our style of playing out from the back. Anyway I've said my bit, so I'm going to duck out of this argument. Hope he wins us the game in Madrid and then you can rub it in my face.

What, like effectively winning us the semi final with that strong save from Niyech(sic?) before Lucas bagged the winner?

I think Lloris is a very good keeper but I seriously question his leadership and I have before. I don’t know how he is in the dressing room but I’ve never seen him lead on the pitch. Tonight there was several instances where our defender didn’t know what to do because Lloris did nothing, for example the second goal. Rose chested it out for a corner when he didn’t really need to because Hugo didn’t help him

I’m definitely not blaming him for tonight and I don’t say he’s bad and we need to sell him, I don’t even say he shouldn’t be the captain because Poch knows best but imo he needs to lead the back line better

Not his fault tonight. Players in front of him let him down.

Definitely not his fault but at the same time he’s the captain, he should lead our inexperienced team much better especially in defence and he never does that

Who is inexperienced?
Are you refering to players called, Michael Urgency, Tommy Backpass, Jim Pressing, and Lance Movement?

People having a crack at his leadership.... wtf?

Hard to infiuence a game when your a keeper and you are hardly tested.

Apart from his error against Barca, he’s been super in the CL.
