I think another huge thing that the stats can't highlight - but don't get me wrong I love the stats ?- is the confidence / relationship with the defence. Hugo definitely instills confidence in our defense but going further than that is his consistency, he rarely does anything rash; so there always appears to be a good understanding as to when Hugo will come for the ball , show for a back pass etc.

For me, those articles only reaffirm what, personally, I've (and I dont mean to toot my own horn .... too much) been saying all along, even when some others were calling for Gazza to replace him, and that's that he is having a genuinely outstanding season.

Honestly, he should be in contention for the TOTY, but the really strange and just flat out incorrect narrative that surrounds him will prevent that.

Liverpool fans be crying "But Lloris doesn't have to face shots from Kane, it isn't fair!!!"

I wonder how some of these comments stack up with his performance tonight?!

For me, it wouldn't be an issue if Gazza starts against Arsenal because in too many big games Lloris does something fucking inane and usually ends up with him picking the ball out of his net.

Decent backup keeper, nothing more.

World cup winning captain with best save percentage in the prem. Don't talk such bollocks, he has mistakes in him but to say he's a back up keeping nothing more makes you look foolish.

I said it a while back and got criticised.

I hope the club are looking to the future in the goalkeeper department.

The second goal is not his fault at all

Trippier has plenty of time to deal with the situation he doesn’t....both players then panic trippier does the rest it should be going row z.

The first goal is all his fault there was also 3x before that where played us into trouble for me winning the World Cup seems to have effected him on top of that was the drink drive I starting to think that maybe there is an issue behind the scenes like family issues marital problems etc his heads not right.

I dont know whether my eyes and memory deceives me but Lloris does not seem to have any confidence in Tripps. Lloris invariably seems to rush out a fair bit more when Tripps plays.

It was tongue in cheek but I honestly don’t think he’s good enough to be our number one, and haven’t done for years. I’d be looking to sell this summer. That’s my opinion.

Ah alright, sorry if my wording was harsh, I'm a bit on tilt atm, I go from laughing at the 2nd go to mad depending on Arsenal fans messaging me. I must admit I think Hugo is a great shot stopper but I am concerned but the problem as I see it is, we already have so much to overhaul in the summer, I don't see how we can deal with the keeper situation.

I would love Gazza in goal, but Poch will always go with Hugo.

No worries. You’re probably right about having too much to do in the summer to worry about Hugo too. Gazzaniga deserves to be given a run in the team at the very least.

Anyone blaming Lloris for that own goal clearly has an agenda against him. Hugo was rushing outbrfite Trippier even bad possession, just as he has done for every ball into that part of the pitch since he signed. Every player at the club knows he does this, our manager instructs him to do this, so to play the ball back to him, without even looking, is incompetence. Lloris screwed up on the first goal but the own goal was 100% not his fault. Even if Hugo wasn’t rushing out, every defender knows that if you pass back to the goalie, you don’t aim for between the sticks.

This is like when everyone blames Paul Robinson for Gary Neville’s own goal. Fucking bad. It’s like some kind of union for right backs from Bury who look like vermin.
