Another who receives unbelievable criticism on here. Keepers will always make mistakes, he is still one of the best around and we are a far better team with him.

Do think a tough decision needs to be made. Yes he can have great games but so can most keepers across the league (often against us), but the regularity with which he costs us in big games is crazy. It's a mental thing. He even did it for France in the World Cup Final. We can't afford these setbacks in important games.

We missed an opportunity to take the captaincy off of him with the drink driving charge IMO.

Stand by what I posted at the time, but man has Hugo stepped up. Two excpetional performances. Not sure if Poch saw it as the same tough decision as I did, but keeping the faith proved to be the right one. Bravo Hugo, I hold my hands up.

But Gazzaniga has better distribution..........

He's made some errors but which keeper doesn't? This bloke is clearly our No. 1, by some margin.

Played great tonight. I still think we need to look beyond him long-term, but we’ll done Monsieur.

I'll leave ol' Walt to convey my bearing on Hugo, this morning:

O Captain! my Captain! our fearful trip is done,
The ship has weather’d every rack, the prize we sought is won,
The port is near, the bells I hear, the people all exulting,
While follow eyes the steady keel, the vessel grim and daring;
But O heart! heart! heart!
O the bleeding drops of red,
Where on the deck my Captain lies,
Fallen cold and dead.

O Captain! my Captain! rise up and hear the bells;
Rise up—for you the flag is flung—for you the bugle trills,
For you bouquets and ribbon’d wreaths—for you the shores a-crowding,
For you they call, the swaying mass, their eager faces turning;
Here Captain! dear father!
This arm beneath your head!
It is some dream that on the deck,
You’ve fallen cold and dead.

My Captain does not answer, his lips are pale and still,
My father does not feel my arm, he has no pulse nor will,
The ship is anchor’d safe and sound, its voyage closed and done,
From fearful trip the victor ship comes in with object won;
Exult O shores, and ring O bells!
But I with mournful tread,
Walk the deck my Captain lies,
Fallen cold and dead.
