Appalling behaviour by Lloris
that financial penalties won't address
or even driving bans in his case.
His wealth will easily offset all of this
If the club are not to act seriously*
I would have liked to have seen
a substantial Community Service order
over several months
in local hospital emergency departments for example.

Hugo Lloris court case outcome

* By this I mean removal from him of the captaincy.
Young team and focus on 'our own' and Academy
warrants this .
Bad example to youngsters within the club and young fans.

What he did was wrong for obvious reasons (I expressed my views a while back that he should be banned by us for a couple of games but not stripped of his captaincy). My view is now, he has been punished by the law and will no doubt have to live with this. I think punishment from the law plus the club fine is sufficient to draw a line under this and move on.

He should not be stripped off his Captaincy UNLESS the players feel he is not fit enough given that he would be representing the cub and the players (which I highly doubt).

Stripped of captaincy? Because of one mistake? Oh stop. Come off it. Wasnt stripped immediately after and certainly should not be now. He was punished. Whether its enough or not, he cant be punished again.

And the next captain behind Hugo should be Vertonghen.

He’ll get a two week fine from us as it’s the maximum we can impose and that will be it now I suspect. Hopefully he will be made or volunteer to do some alcohol related work with the Foundation in the local area as well.

We need him back in goal on Saturday though, there’s little doubt about that.

We do, but it's bad news on that front as both him and Dele are out on Sat and probably the Inter match as well.

“Several weeks” very odd when apparently 10 days ago he’d be fine for Liverpool. Got to say looked fine the other night jumping around with the World Cup.

Yep, I think there has to be more to this. I wonder whether he told Poch the truth about the state he was in when he was bailed out the week before the United game.

Hugo is out "several weeks" with a thigh injury according to twitter.

How did he hurt his leg? Is this some bullshit reason that the club is giving the public, while the real reason he is missing is because he is serving a club imposed penalty due to his drink driving indiscretion.

Why would we handicap ourselves like that, that doesn't make any sense?

And Twitter isn't the most reliable of sources...

It's the club's official twitter saying it, so it's fairly reliable...

Gotcha but onto my first point, we have no reason to cover up a club penalty, maybe he is actually Injured...
Yeah, agreed. The only reason to do that would be the signalling/PR effect. And then we wouldn't cover it up with an injury.

We will sorely miss him. As much as I like Michel, he's nowhere near as good and reliable as Hugo. I do hope that 'several weeks' means no more than, say four max.

“We’re working hard to come back strong and as quickly as possible. There’s perhaps a chance for this weekend, but we’ll see depending on how things go this week.”

Those were Lloris own words in Regard to Liverpool. Now he’s now out for “several weeks” which could be anything from maybe 3-6 weeks. Just seems way to coincidental with everything else that’s going on.
