If we ever play 4231 again, I'd like Dembele and Vic as the 2, with Dele, Eriksen and Winks behind the striker.

Who's better depends on the opposition imo. Dembele is a clear number one for me against quality teams where we need to win the midfield battle. But I think Winks is a better option vs. teams that sit back, although we don't really seem to struggle as much in those games with three at the back.

Either way, it's quite incredibly that this discussion is even being held, given the age of the two.

At what though, you can't just say one is better than the other, there's a distinction between both players, Dembele can do things that Winks can't and vice versa.
And it's not just about Winks or Dembele. It's about Winks or Dembele when partnered with Wanyama.

winks is a more progressive/aggressive passer. plays at a higher tempo. he's more effective driving forward with and without the ball. i'd say he's more likely to come up with something in the final third, whether that's a goal or an assist. dembele's better defensively and at holding onto the ball(this can also be a negative).

they're different players but ultimately they're competing for the same spot and for me winks brings more to the team that we don't already have. i'm fine with dembele seeing out the rest of the season but would be pretty disappointed if he's still #1 alongside wanyama next year.

I'd like to think we'll be challenging on four fronts next season, so there will be plenty of opportunities for both.

I strongly believe that we need regular rotation in all competitions to seriously challenge for multiple trophies, rather than fielding a weakened side in cups or only making changes when forced to by injuries. Granted it's more difficult to do that than in the PL than the other top European leagues, but against teams outside of the top half a dozen or so we should be able to interchange our wing-backs, one of the CBs or one of the midfielders (not all at once), whilst still outplaying the opposition. Man Utd didn't win the treble in '99 by fielding the same 11 players every game.

I wasn't suggesting that. I am big fan in accurate passes. It's vital. So it is one indicator of Winks possible future quality. That's it. Sorry for being positive about one of our players.
Sorry, your post was surrounded by comments from everyone else saying Winks should be starting ahead of Dembele, so I took it in the wrong context.

please stop these silly comments Winks is an amazing prospect but he is not Dembele level yet...
Who said anything about 'dembele level'? I was talking specifically about his passing which is more effective than Demebele's.

Don't reply to my posts if you can't understand what's being put forward.

Got feisty between him and Arnold, They tangled off the ball then had words. Later Arnold tried to shake his hand and Winks wasn't having any of it and pushed it away

Winks, Pickford and Mawson are better players in England U21 today. It is not a coincidence as these three players have played lots of games in PL, unlike the other england players. The Chelsea cores are really shit especially Chalobah. I think giving game time in top tier to young players are really important to their developments. Really Thank Poch.

You are saying replace Dembele with Winks which means you think he is better. Seems to me like you don't understand your own argument... like I said Winks is a talent but at the moment he is better off the bench.
