How many times did Michael Owen score 20 league goals in a season. Never did it...even when he wasn’t injured

Tearing his hamstring at 19 years old didn't help his career, honestly thought he wasn't quite the same player after it.

Lost a yard of pace and a degree of explosiveness not many other players had back then.

Edit: The season he did it, he was on 18 goals and missed at least 4 league games.

Pretty sure PL rules are that if there is space in the squad (which we now have) then players have to be registered (and so get a squad number).

Nope, no such thing.

It's a bit nose off to spite face to not even register him though, because why not, but if we don't want to we don't have to.

Which one of you is correct? Any written prove at all? Just asking as neither of you give a link to said information.

in 15/16 we only registered 18 players, mainly because a lot of the playing squad still had u21 status (Dele, Dier, Winks, Bentaleb, Onomah) but we still did not register Emmanuel Adebayor at the end of the summer deadline despite the fact that he was still on our books until 18 September, at which point we released him on a free and he went to Crystal Palace. Happy?

No. This is a crucially important point, and nothing less than legal certitude will suffice. I need confirmation, one way or the other, from THFC's solicitors, on their letterhead, and a 5-figure sum placed in an escrow account to cover any material losses I incur as a result of this information proving to be incorrect. Is that too much to expect?

Glad he’s gone away to do the rehab.

He’s going to be nice a fresh.

When he does his ankle in is the only rest he ever gets. If he’s not playing every game for Spurs, he’s away with England. Hope he gets at least some time off in the summer.

I could see him on the bench for Dortmund at home. Even if they dont intend to play him it would be a big lift to have him around the squad. We certainly can't rush him back too soon like last season but I could see him making a couple of appearances at the back end of feb, then starting the NLD.

he's always a quick healer but it took him a long time to get back to form last time, that's the bigger worry for me

I think he will most likely be back for Dortmund away - having said that why bother if we are 5-1 up anyways - may as well rest him up good n proper
