Darren Lewis has written a story where he states senior figures at the PFA are disappointed with their chairman over his 'joke' at the awards. He then puts it is 'understood' that some of Kane's family is upset about the ongoing joke and bullying.

The comments, yet again, fail to understand the issue and instead resort to saying Kane has brought it on himself and is soft as shite etc.

My comment is up there somewhere, about a chairman of a union mocking one of its members in public causing some to get fired in other industries. Calling it banter just because it's football doesn't really cut it.

Its the sort of thing you expect from the children of twitter, and the simpletons who play for and support Liverpool, but not from the PFA.

Jim White just had a caller on who said that because Kane is making such a fuss out of it all proves that he didnt touch the ball and should have the goal taken off him.
He never said who he supported, i wonder which club it is...

Hm, yes, I wonder. Also, Kane isn't making ANY fuss about this. There's nothing out there to support the view that he is bothered by it. It's others doing it for him, or pointing out the problems that, somehow for some, translates to Kane himself.

I honestly feel a bit for Kane. In the last 3/4 years he has had to deal with everything from “One Season Wonder” to “Haha, he has a lisp” to “Oh, bet Harry Kane will claim that”...it’s really sad tbh...

I Think a small matter is actually because he plays for Spurs. Because we don’t necessarily have the prestige and recent trophy cabinet, he will be seen as being “Too big” for us, so instead, let’s beat down on him and take the piss...

Eventually, it boils down to petty jealousy, because fans of Arse, Chelsea, Manu, Manc and Liverpool would all sell their bollocks to have a player like Kane in their team. It’s similar I think to when Bale was in his peak, and everyone was like “yeah, but he looks like a monkey”...who cares? They just can’t pick any holes in his actual game, so they make it personal....

The whole thing with Kane is from the top to bottom, people are still taking the piss, whether it is the head of the PFA, right the way to Sunday League. My local Sunday Side posted this on their Facebook page last week...that’s what happens when a Liverpool fan is your manager!

I don’t think all the stuff aimed at him is particularly malliscious, or hurtful. But it is that frequent and saturated on social media, you can’t help but find it exhausting. I know I do!

Dude the filth of Liverpool infects the press, media and the fa.

One of the many reasons I hope I can become a billionaire. So I can buy them and shut it down.

It really has become a sad state of affairs....... feel really sorry for our Harry.... I wonder if he gets the same shit when out in public?
I wouldn't be surprised if he can't wait for this season to end.
Bet the shit will carry on should he go to the WC. Roma fans are at it so wouldn't surprise me.

Can someone in the public provoke Jamie Carragher or Steven Gerrard. We could do with another 'incident' to take away the focus here.

It's absolutely ridiculous that this drama is still continuing and it's clearly getting to Kane. His actions certainly don't deserve this level of drama. I can't believe this has insulted so many people! He only claimed a goal.

He didn't dive.
He didn't cheat.
He didn't perform a racist act.
He didn't goad some supporters.
He didn't make a leg breaking challenge.
He didn't make a slur.
He didn't call out anyone.
He didn't hurt anyone.

What is it with this country and ridiculing people to the extreme?? A light joke is fair game but we've had well over two weeks now of this shit.

Jeez this has got out of hand. I think he's got to own it now and rise about it - make some lame joke about claiming something random and show it doesn't bother him

Incredible/retarded how it's snowballed

I remember listening or watching a debate about Kane a few months ago, and a pundit made the point that in the past when Kane has returned from injury it has taken him circa one month to look sharp again.

I forget the show, and who the pundit was, but they were basically saying that your body type makes a big difference in how quickly you physically get back to your best, and that Kane (whilst incredibly athletic at peak fitness) isn't a naturally athletic guy so it takes him a while to get sharp after a break.

I can see the sense in that, but I wonder if someone like @Lemon has anything scientific to back the claim up.

Anyway, hopefully Poch has had him doing the bleep test and eating tuna for the past 6 days and he's raring to go for Monday!

Wouldn't it be great if the crowd show him real support during the game regardless of how he does just to show him he is our main man. Don't just sing his name if he scores

Anyone see on SSN just now, Kane and Eriksen v Pochettino and Perez taking free kicks and trying to knock plastic bottles over as part of a get rid of plastic campaign. Poch and Perez won and Kane said ‘well done gaffer though there were a few dodgy decisions’, and Eriksen said quite softly ‘appeal it’ or something similar and Perez cracked up. Very amusing though I expect SportBible to sensationalise it any moment....

Again, missed opportunity for Kane to take ownership. If he'd have just said he was going to claim the title of winner of the comp and laughed, it would have killed it all dead.

I’m not even sure if Kane heard it but if he did then yeah he should’ve. The presenters didn’t even mention it, it went straight over their heads. It was quite softly spoken from Eriksen but not too soft that he didn’t want anyone to hear.

I think he'd kill it dead if he was to go on and win the Golden Boot by a couple of goals. Although that looks extremely hard and the whole situation has no doubt added more pressure on him.

No, Kane, didn't hear it, which again means that it looks like the joke's on him. What I mean't is when they were filming the whole thing, Kane should have said, right if you guys win, I'm going to end the piece with a joke about claiming it.

I don't think it would. Because it still looks like he's humourless and self-centred.

Interesting as this 'month to get going again' would also explain his poor starts to seasons too.

But I believe he just is not over his injuries yet.
He is our talisman figure and as we do not have a proper plan B,
he is told to play but play within himself so as not to aggravate anything further.
He is in 'limp home mode'.

This suits Kane fine, as all players want to play regardless of their condition.

You actually believe that?

People would still find a reason to take the piss, when you have a narrative against and people constantly jumping on the bandwagon you there's little you can do.
