I don't know where this ranks in faux pas land. Probably somewhere between coming home drunk, picking the wrong bedroom door and mistakenly shagging the mother in law or well, leaving a floater in your girlfriends bidet by accident when visiting her khazi on your first date. Kind of sucks either way you look at it :D

The year is 2055

A wide eyed young boy asks his granddad "who was the best Spurs player you ever saw Grandad?"

Grandad "For me it was Harry Kane, broke all records and turned our fortunes around, one club man and a true legend"

Young boy "What about GKN, most people agree he was the catalyst for us winning three back to back titles and the Champions' League"

Grandad "Fuck off, he wore a Chelsea shirt once, get out of my house. you are out of my will"

:( "sorry grampa Grapo2001"

;)

Lucky we didn't write Son of after the first 12 months.
Son had a lightning start with us and then got an ankle injury and after that found it hard to be anything other than an impact sub ... but still had great stats and important goals. Other than he was rumoured to be unhappy at a lack of starts, and Poch was rumoured to be considering selling as a result, he was a success.

He seems to be a popular part of the squad, which is probably more important than we give it credit for

I think he has talent this kid - not out of the question that he makes an impression this year

I'd say he has a clean slate light 99% of the squad and a chance to make an impression in pre-season. If he takes it and lives up to his potential he could be just what we need.

Totally outplayed Dani Alves in the first 45: needs to be given a chance is very exciting and hard working too

They doubled up on him several times and he still did well. Looks like he's adapting to Poch's ethos. A couple assists/ goals and he'll definitely play with more creative freedom.

I think they obviously saw some raw skills in him to warrant purchasing. Maybe with no preseason to bed in last year, it's only after twelve months we're starting to see him adapt to what's required. Two games into preseason (including the Leyton Orient game) and he's starting to have a real positive impact on games, looks like a players who wants to deliver and is prepared to work to show that and take his opportunities whenever given.
