Yeah give him an extension. Has a unique role in this squad and has proved he can contribute when it matters.

He's also a really popular member of the squad, that's important.

Just want Poch to use him a touch more so when he is called upon he can get up to speed a bit quicker.

Definitely worth another year.

I notice the opinion on Llorente has changed now people have actually seen him play more than 5 minutes at a time! Seems to be a valuable squad player and no doubt good mentality around the younger players.

I would be happy if we kept him but also not unhappy if we sign someone else of the Son ilk that can lead the line or play other positions as required.

Let's assess at the end of the season. He's made a contribution recently, but overall his finishing has been too poor and work-rate too low to suggest he can (partially) fill Harry Kane's boots with any kind of consistency.

His first 3 touches v Dortmund....

1) Header to clear their freekick by llorente.
2)Ball was recycled by dortmund and kicked clear by llorente

We run up the other end and win a corner

3) headed in by llorente.

Not a bad little contribution.

I'm unsure whether you accurately and objectively can in fact dismiss his work rate. It's one of those terms fans use witlessly about players they don't fully approve of. Llorente's work rate is in my opinion quiet acceptable. The output might be different.

He’s had a goal involvement every 63 minutes this season. Ok all his minutes only add up to 8 full games. But he does effect games in a positive way and is s great plan B or C something city and Liverpool don’t have.

He always deserved better than Swansea, he’s one of Europe’s top players in the last decade FFS. A player I always wanted us to sign but knew we never would as he was way too good for us in his prime.

Glad he’s getting the chance to enjoy big CL games again at the ripe old age of four fucking years younger than me :bored:

I think City are doing alright with Jesus as their plan B.

It's great to think he has had a couple of real moments to savour for us now. For the effort and patience he has shown since signing for us it's the least he deserves.
According to Wikipedia he's on 7 goals this season. I'm hoping he gets to double figures so it feels like he's made a big contribution

He has more goals this season than Giroud whilst playing a similar role.

Has more than 3 times more goals than Alexis Sanchez...

He did well yesterday and was unlucky not to score. Shame he didn’t get his confidence early.

He could easily have had a hat-trick himself today. Hold up and link up play start of first half very good. Touch impressive.

Good game, a goal or assist every 88 minutes for us this season is pretty impressive, and also has more than double the assists of Ozil this season....

He's a poor man's Sissoko- and trust me I mean that in the most complementary of ways. Initially, dude got loads of stick; nowadays we see him as integral to the cause. Fucking love the guy.

I’d quite like to keep him for next season.

I think Poch has underused him a bit and perhaps should have rested Kane a bit more (fuck whether Kane wants to start every game, much as he has a good winning attitude he needs to look after himself a bit more).

The stick he was getting earlier in season was crazy.
