One of the things I love about Lamela is his awareness. His passes are difficult to telegraph because his body shape doesn't give away his thought process. Not many players have this ability, particularly in our team. A prime example was his last involvement before being subbed; passing 90 degrees (without looking) to create a half-chance for Kane.

If he used his right foot for simple passes more frequently, he'd be even harder to predict.

great to have him back, and I'm surprised at how fresh he seems. He doesn't really seem to have the rustiness that Rose has. Great for him to get a start last night, and get the best part of 75 minutes under his belt. Such an asset to have him back and fit.

Welcome back Coco

He probably is sitll a bit rusty which shows me if hes performing like this after a long while out how naturally talented he is! If he stays clear of injuries he will only improve as the season goes on.

Why does this only seem to get aimed at left footers? You rarely see people moaning that a right footed player is bad on his left foot.
Because in Lamela case he won’t even try his right foot. Someone like Eriksen is willing to use his left

Rustiness is expected. But his confidence is back surely. I'm really happy at that.
Just me that finds his sharpness surprising after 14 months? Rose has seemed miles off after 9 months. I guess no 2 players are the same. But surprised he went from x2 15 mins cameos to 75mins. Guess we will never know the whole story. Just glad to have him back. Appreciate him much more now than did before.

One of the only positives to come out of the City game

Did really well again when he came on as he did v Brighton

Hopefully he can start to get more and more game time ASAP as he can’t come back quickly enough at present

Great to see him back. If we'd scored following his moment of magic, the tone of conversation on here today would've been completely different.

Yes was brilliant from Lamela

Quite amazing that Winks didn’t fall over the defenders legs. Did everything right until he actually did everything to stay on his feet. Silly sod lol

Lamela wants to be here, Rose doesn't, is the reason I suspect.

The other thing with Rose is that even if he does want to be here, he's thrown away all the goodwill from supporters by now. Nobody's going to give him the benefit of the doubt and the blame for that is entirely on his shoulders.

At least a shot off his left foot shouldn't be a very difficult task..

Remember when this guy first came? Lightweight; aloof; uber sensitive; little puppy lost.

Now he's a berserker who plays like he'll get fined half his wages if he doesn't do someone within the first 10 mins.

Sees reverse balls like no one else; sees space like no one else here.

100% commitment, passion, desire to contribute and win.

He deserves huge props for coming back from a year+ out and instantly becoming an invaluable component...again.

Love this guy.

Crucial player for us.

When he's confident - my favourite player to watch in the team.
