Feel like that’s more because of the fact that he’s usually injured or on his way back from an injury that he’s content with sub appearances and sporadic starts. He should have been sold a long time ago. He’s just very very average yet has this cult following amongst supporters. It’s weird.

Yeah agree. Love his off the ball work and he does have a lot of skill on the ball and can play some nice weighted balls into the front man from outside the box.

The problem for me though is this doesn’t usually translate into anything effective in the attacking sense. Most of the time he does something which looks pretty, but doesn’t get him or our team mates any closer to scoring.

Yeh sadly his time has come he’s got to go.

I think he always tries very hard, not always successfully, but the thing which drives me kanankers about him is that he cannot kick the ball with his right foot, even when a right footed pass is so obviously on, he'll try to pass it with his left, again, not always successfully.

Time to move on and sell Lamela.

Offers very little in goals or assists. Gives away quite needless fouls. Very one footed, to such an extent he contorts his body (very much like Benny used to do) . One trick pony drops a shoulder feints right, then goes left. Do not believe his injury problems are behind him, I think his problems will be chronic, not curable, just manageable.

I also feel, if he wasn't an Argentine, he would have been sold or loaned out in prep for sale 2 years ago.

Anyone want to bet we try to replace Lamela with Sessegnon this summer?

I for one would be neither shocked nor upset if that happened. I know we've been looking at the boy from Fulham for a couple of seasons now, and it does look as if he'll be back in the Championship again next season, so maybe we can pick him up for a few quid less.

The right time for he and Moura to actually contribute this weekend. It would be lovely if either of them would do anything instead of running around like headless chickens.

Cult hero for being a shithouse and one amazing goal, but doesnt do anything bar charge around looking likely to get booked at all times.

It's cool he'll score again or get an assist and this place will start loving him again, I see how this works.

I've been a pretty big advocate for Erik Lamela over the years, but I think it's time we move on. He's like a gimmick player at this point. Just comes on and mixes it up a bit and picks up a yellow card for his troubles.

Funny how he is getting singled out again. I thought he got us going a little bit coming on today. We were playing so poorly before.

I think we needed his intensity from the start.

And, for the record - that was only his 3rd yellow of the season. It just looks like every tackle is going to be a yellow.

Hasn't he had just one start since Christmas or something.
Lots of moaning about him and wanyama but you've got to keep playing to get sharp and in tune

We need to freshen the squad up.

Lamela would be a candidate to go imo.

Too many players with chronic Injury problems now. It's getting to a point where we can't put out a quality 11.

He used to make a positive change when he came on. Now he’s just a wrecking machine. We’ve waited a long time for him to turn up but I don’t think he ever will. Perhaps a change of scenery would be good for his career.

After this game, after our two London derbies, I guess I won't be so sad to let Lamela leave comes end of season if there are takers.

He's been here for 4 (or 5) seasons but he just never got the chance to stake his claim in the starting XI proper. There were signs in the beginning of this eaaon but he tapers off again.

This league just doesn't suit him and he could no longer contribute to the team with many others are outpacing him in terms of usefulness and ability. Getting yellows so soon after coming on as sub is actually quite disruptive to the team morale too TBH.

Wasted he just couldn't live up to expectations he could deliver.

changed the game when he came on today imo. And put in a great cross that rose should have finished.

Lad needs more game time if he's ever gonna get a rhythm.

He seems to get this pass because he stamped on fabregas and called Wilshere a pussy. He does get it and he's really embraced being spurs, but thats not enough anymore.

Well he was right about Wilshere and if I was 40 years younger and playing for Tottenham, I would have made Fabregas sing Soprano for a week, the little bitch.

Thought he made the difference today. Added intensity and set up Rose, and won us the foul that resulted in the penalty.
