We cant be that arrogant. Top four was NOT a cakewalk last season and the target on us has increased in size since then. We aren't a 'project-rebuild' club - we're trying to maintain an existing top tier status. All for planning for the future but ask them lot down the road how that feels when you've slipped down the league (and we didn't finish ahead of them by much)
Not sure I agree. Chelsea had Hazard, Arsenal got ludicrously lucky last season, and we dropped off massively in the second half of the season due to fitness/injuries (45 points in the first 19 games, 26 in the second). This time around Chelsea do not have Hazard, Arsenal will in all likelihood not be so lucky and are also seemingly losing their only competent defender, and we haven't just had most of our first XI go all the way to the WC Final or 3rd Place game, have signed a highly coveted midfielder, and as of yet have only lost a 3rd-choice goalie. If we stand still (e.g. improve in midfield but decline at LB, CB or AM) I think we're strong favourites for Top 4 and indeed 3rd place - and I'm confident that overall we'll do better than that and start the season with a better squad than we ended the last one with.

Sessegnon?

Hmmm.......is he ready to play such a major role for us? It's probably how things are meant to pan out but it's a bit risky for my money. My transfer wishlist included Grimaldo and Meunier but that ain't gonna happen now.

Looking at the 17-18 and 18-19 seasons, rose missed 48 games due to injury. I agree when fit and playing he is a great player to have as gives 100% much like Lamela, but when they spend so much time out injured it puts more pressure and stress on the team as unable to rotate.

Same questions were said of Dier and Ali, both showed they were, and same could be same for Kane and winks also. If the management thinks they are ready and good enough we just have to trust them I guess.

I'd be happy to have Rose for the remainder of his contract. When fully fit and focused, there's not too many better fullbacks around.

Exactly. Five year plan has been mentioned so many times by Pochettino- we aren’t going to have a super strong starting xi and decent bench in August. It’s going to take a season or two; we need to be patient, but we’ll get there.

And within those five years, City and Liverpool could easily weaken. It happens all the time in football.

@BringBack_leGin Sorry mate, but @Lilbaz is fast becoming The Clash to your Mozart
Mozart? Bah, I’m the Rolling Stones, here to remind everyone that you can’t always get what you want, while I can’t get no satisfaction. ;)

This 5 year plan will see both Harry and Son past 30. I wonder if we’ll cash in on them too before they get there.

We've seen what sess can do in a good team that dominates possession. He will get lots of goals and set up a lot.
Completely agree.

I love Rose and don't want him to go, love his tenacity, he gives a shit, but he has made a lot of noises about wanting to finish playing up north.

Sess I am very excited about, really want to get this kid on board and in the team. Think he will be the real deal

I've got 6 mates that are Fulham season ticket holders or that go regularly. Most of them laugh at the thought of Sessegnon ending up as a left back as he isn't great at defending. That could change with good coaching but his best season was on the left of an attacking three.

Stopped reading at the fourth word - why should I spend the time reading your posts when they're littered with lies right off the bat?

Arsenal lucky? We were lucky too when they threw away 4th place.

Everton also just signed Delph who can play full back ?

I didn't know that. I'm starting to woder if Man City might be interested in Rose. Pep suggested that he didn't know if he could rely on Mendy at the end of last season. They've got Zinchenko and this new guy Angelino, but I don't know if he's ready for the Premier league this season? They also need English players as I can only see Stones, Walker and Foden in the squad now. Have I missed someone?

Love Danny Rose, and I'll be genuinely sad if he goes.

However, I can kind of understand it. He's another in the squad that can't be relied upon to stay fit. He can really only play one game a week when fit, and he will miss games during the season.

Also, the way this has been reported, it seems like it's a mutual parting of the ways. Rose has said before that he wants to end his career up north, hasn't he? Perhaps we both see it as the right time to make it happen.

One thing that will be a problem, and I know this is boring stuff, but we will seriously be struggling on the HG front this season from the looks of it with Rose and Tripps both going.

KWP will take Trippiers HG spot this season as he's 22 now so has to be included in the squad. Sessegnon will probably come in as well, although he won't take up a squad space as he's U21.

The idea that we are signing this kid to play at LB is ridiculous. He's an atacking player, he may end up as a WB one day, but the very notion of selling a seasoned pro in Rose and putting a kid at LB from next season is horrible. We will be conceding left right and centre, hardly a defence built to title challenge.

Haha it seems like people interpreted Pochettino's comments about 'the next chapter' and the next 5 years as though he was saying we're going to drop down to midtable before challenging for the league again in five years. That's such a strange thing to be angst-ridden about. It was clearly about moving into a next chapter where we shift out ambitions year on year to one where we expect to be competing for trophies every year, and having an off-field strategy that facilitates that.

Vincent Janssen, Georges-Kevin Nkoudou and Danny Rose have been granted additional time off in order to explore prospective opportunities with other clubs.

Club comment on the travelling squad on tour.
