Love Danny Rose, and I'll be genuinely sad if he goes.

However, I can kind of understand it. He's another in the squad that can't be relied upon to stay fit. He can really only play one game a week when fit, and he will miss games during the season.

Also, the way this has been reported, it seems like it's a mutual parting of the ways. Rose has said before that he wants to end his career up north, hasn't he? Perhaps we both see it as the right time to make it happen.

One thing that will be a problem, and I know this is boring stuff, but we will seriously be struggling on the HG front this season from the looks of it with Rose and Tripps both going.

I do wonder if this is why we are happy if he goes. If last season taught Poch anything it would of been how detrimental injuries are to a season’s campaign.

The World Cup and injuries really had an impact on our season in terms of performances and (most importantly to Poch as he’s always going on about it) consistency and he would want that addressed if he’s serious about a league title challenge.

There is no way we can have another season like last year in terms of injuries and have players dropping like flies once again. We need players who can be relied on to stay fit enough to be picked.

It's a 5 year plan. Not first game of the season plan.
Exactly. Five year plan has been mentioned so many times by Pochettino- we aren’t going to have a super strong starting xi and decent bench in August. It’s going to take a season or two; we need to be patient, but we’ll get there.

And within those five years, City and Liverpool could easily weaken. It happens all the time in football.

We cant be that arrogant. Top four was NOT a cakewalk last season and the target on us has increased in size since then. We aren't a 'project-rebuild' club - we're trying to maintain an existing top tier status. All for planning for the future but ask them lot down the road how that feels when you've slipped down the league (and we didn't finish ahead of them by much)

Tell that Kane and co. that we need to be patient for some more years. Could easily backfire, we need to keep CL at least with a push for some trophies.

To see Rose leave would hurt a lot. Danny was always around and he is just a player you want in your side, not the opposit.

Or maybe sess will be better than rose was last season.

It may be more that he wants to go rather than we want to sell him.

Nevertheless, there's a certain amount of rebuilding going on. Ideally it would be a drip-feed process but circumstances dictate otherwise.

We've seen what sess can do in a good team that dominates possession. He will get lots of goals and set up a lot.
