He's 18 ffs. He could still turn out to be the best goalkeeper and buscuit chef in the entire universe.

That's such a strange thing to say. So you're saying he could still be the best LB in the universe then and thereby also disagreeing with allatsea? Pretty insulting to every keeper out there too.

I haven't seen any signs of him having the technique or dribbling ability to be an effective winger long-term. Yes, he is young and maybe he has a lot more skill that he didn't show last season but that doesn't invalidate my personal observation and opinion, so stop getting your panties in a twist already.

Apart from messi or playing fm, what is you're track record on scouting 18 year old football players? % wise?

Think Sessegnon is a great call given his age. He can defend, and still improve as a defender; he's a good distributor, has versatility as a a LWB, left-sided midfielder and as a winger. He has good game awareness, which allows him to play different roles. There really is a lot of potential there, especially with our coaching support.

I've always said you can't tell how good they will be till they are around 22. You can look at any of my posts.

Ok, no problem with that. I just don't think dribbling and technique improves significantly after a player turns 18. I'm not saying Sessegnon is bad or doesn't have potential. I just don't think winger is his long-term position from what he showed last season. I'm thinking he is more of a Danny Rose than say Son.

This conversation seems awfully familiar. Like we've had it before about some one else stuck between LB and LW and a forward. Hmm.

True, reminded me too but I was always in the Bale should be a winger camp.

At 18 rose was a winger bale was a lb. Hell sol campbell was a striker.

Really hope we don't move him on.

We could really do without creating an extra problem for ourselves. He was superb over the last couple of months of the season and he and Davies are a more than adequate duo for the LB rotation.

Danny loves to sir the pot. There are numerous examples of older players than him at Spurs.

Exactly. I love his honesty but sometimes there’s no need to say certain things. If he was asked if he’ll be with us next season, all he has to say is ‘I don’t know’. The age thing is a bit of a naff excuse, it’s almost like he actually wants out sometimes.

If he goes I’ll be extremely thankful for what he’s done for us and very gutted that he’s leaving. We’ll survive of course, especially if we get Sessegnon, but fuck sake Danny, just say ‘I’ll have a chat with the manager’ or something.

How is it club policy to move on players at a certain age?

Llorente? Vertonghen? He does chat some rubbish sometimes.

He will always be outspoken. I think it's something we've just gotten used to with him now. I doubt he'll go, we've got not need to move him on and he's not going to get in the starting 11 at any bugger clubs than us.

The reason he would be moved on if he is would be because of fitness not age. Vertonghen is older than him and plays week in week out. Rose has struggled to play 2 games in a week for a long time now and even got subbed for England today before the end of 90 minutes
