Thanks for the post. What really stuck out in this interview is that it sounds as if he turned the corner.

‘Danny — stop wasting time’. So yeah, I’m not wasting any more time. I’ve got my head down again and I’m doing okay at the minute. I’m trying to get back to where I was a couple of years ago. “He meant, ‘Be fully focused’. On the pitch. And if you’re not fully focused then you’re free to leave the club. So I told him that I am fully focused. And I’m going to be here to fight and help the club progress. And I hope that I am showing that in my performances and in training as well.”

Thanks for that. Really like this quote:

“Our only motivation was remembering the nonsense that Arsenal posted after the game a few weeks ago. That was our motivation. Players that have only played 10 games for Arsenal were getting ahead of themselves. We used that in a positive way. It’s karma. They fully deserve what they got.

“We had the motivation of getting to the semi-final, so we’re over the moon. But the cherry on top was silencing them after remembering how they celebrated like they had won the league. We’ve put that result right. We’ll see where they are come the end of the season and we’ll see where we are.”

Have to put my hand up and admit it - I thought Rose was finished. He'd been utter garbage since that long term injury in Jan 17 and the comments to The Sun, but games like this and the Barcelona match show that he is getting back to his best. Still would like to see him bursting forward at pace a bit more but there were one or two signs of that part of his game coming back towards the end.

What an incredibly huge asset to us he is when fit. As I see it, 7 of our 11 are at a title-challenging/ winning level - keeper, two centre backs and the front 4. If Danny can keep this form up, that number increases.

I also really liked this quote .. shows how great a manager Poch is ...

Rose feels particularly energised to be part of it all after a period on the fringes at Tottenham, suffering a serious knee injury and a period of depression. Having worked his way back into the team playing every minute of a week that included Champions League qualification at Camp Nou, a last minute Premier League win and a derby cup match emphasises a new lease of life at his club. He credits a couple of long conversations and some hard messaging from Mauricio Pochettino with the turnaround. “After the World Cup, I called the manager. We spoke for an hour before the first game of the season at Newcastle and we spoke for an hour after that. We spoke for quite a long time and the one main thing that stuck out from what he said to me was: ‘Danny – stop wasting time’. So I’m not wasting any more time. I’ve got my head down again. I’m trying to get back to where I was a couple of years ago.”

The manager’s words struck a chord. “Be fully focused. On here. And if you’re not fully focused then you’re free to leave the club,” explains Rose. “So I told him that I am fully focused. And I’m going to be here to fight and help the club progress.”

... Hope he signs a new deal as it's like having a new player these last few games.

d.

He's bang on there! Arsenal seem to have adopted the type of PR tactics that West Ham use to convince fans that players are more than just employees. West Ham love the 'whole new signing crossing his arms like the hammers' thing, and Arsenal push the 'we really care about the North London derby' thing.

That video of Guendozi celebrating on Holloway Road and the selfies etc just summed them up. We have a squad of players who are heavily influenced by the likes of Kane, Winks, Rose etc who have been around for years and have a real understanding of the club, no matter how much those muppets try to convince their fans they care, they are simply just another bunch on the Arsenal conveyor belt.

Also, Danny Rose was brilliant last night and I found it bizarre that the Spurs social media's didn't include him on their MoM polls.

Three straight starts as well, hopefully he’s turned the corner now as is our best left back (no disrespect meant to Davies who is showing his versatility at left centre back well).

Great to see as Captain as well

Agree. Also says alot about MPs man-handling in context to the interview above. And to those who have not experiened depression personally or to someone close - do plz not underestimate or ridicule. Doing it in the public spotlight and dealing with it as Danny has is an impressive feature in itself!

Just hope he can avoid injuries, he's the complete full back and I can see him playing at a high level well into his 30's if he can stay healthy.

IF his head's right and he still wants to be at Tottenham, which is a pretty big if.

"He spends too much energy and then he doesn’t have energy for what he needs to do. And that is a dangerous situation.”
Asked if Rose is one of the hardest players he has ever managed, Pochettino added: “No. He is a lucky man. When I arrived, I’m not sure why, but I connected with him straight away. He felt my love.
“That doesn’t mean that he’s always going to play because I love Ben Davies, too. We had a good connection from day one. As he always told you, he was out [of the team] when I arrived and I stopped him from moving away from Tottenham. That’s why now he needs to pay me back.

I fucking love me some Poch.
