If we're open to selling Eriksen to United, is it a completely mad idea to try and get a swap deal for Lukaku?
Much rather martial. Fast with good skills, and can play wing or striker. That's the sort of player we need. Not lukaku who struggles anywhere but striker and wouldn't play as much because we already have a better one

Which comments?
His comments about 1) wanting a new challenge but more so 2) that challenge would be to either of the top two god tier clubs and if that didn't materialise that he'd put pen to paper on a new contract.

I can find the first comment - which Eriksen was open with both club and fans about and I can see nothing wrong with them whatsoever.

I can't find the latter comment anywhere. Can you link to it?

Funnily enough, after reading this I compiled a list of United players I'd take in a swap deal to improve our squad. I thought of exactly 0 (barring AWB and Maguire of course.). Maybe Rashford or Lindelof at a push?

Shows how shit they actually are.

It was a news paper report/interview at the start of the summer window - the publication may have been a Danish one, and it was widely talked about in this thread at the time.

Could be hundred or so pages back in this thread (maybe more)

No - that report contains the first comment as I said. It does not contain anything about "only god tier clubs and signing with Spurs otherwise". Think you've made that up in your head from ITK snippets which you forgot to take with salt.

People are acting like Eriksen has fucked us over like Maguire sitting out of training with Leicester. Never happened.

BUt why? If he's unhappy, let him move on. Have you ever been unhappy in a job or a relationship? It's not fair to sign him up against his wishes. I know he's seemingly been stringing Spurs along, but he probably doesn't know what to do.

If he's 'unhappy' he's a twat. He's playing for one of the best Managers in the World, in one of the best stadiums in the World and is the focal point of a team on the very cusp of something special. If he'd swap that for Old Trafford, OGS and Europa League he's lost the plot. We can't 'sign him up against his wishes' anyway. Whatever happens it will be his choice, and if that choice is Man Utd he's going there for money, not a new challenge.

If that's the case then why is everyone so up set that he is leaving?

Either:

1) Because he's a great player and hard to replace.

Or

2) They're defensive snotty little brats who are throwing their toys out of the pram and pretending that Eriksen has broken all sorts of promises and acted like a **** just to make themselves feel better about it all?

Oh and

3) He was shit last year, never good enough anyway can't tackle head turned blah blah blah

He is just a football player, if you feel this strongly about him, I'm down with that, he is a fantastic footballer with footballer being the key word - similar to Carrick in you'll miss the things he does even if you didn't see it at the time.

He made a point of saying he wanted a new challenge - if he goes to United good luck to him, he'll be instantly one of their top three players.
