Probably because Hazard can beat a team on his own. He’s a game changer.I don't think they're anywhere near as desperate for Eriksen as they were for Hazard.

Think it also depends on the game-plan Poch has for next season. After all it’s not clever to continue in the same way as previously. You get found out.Exactly.
Replacing Eriksen 1:1 with GLC would not improve us at all, actually we would be in a worse spot.
Also, all ITK has said that he will sign a new contract, if none of the 2 spanish clubs comes in.
Best, somewhat realistic case i can see is: we get TN, CE signs a new contract with buy-out clauses for Barca and Real and, late in the window, Betis drop their price for GLC and we get him too. I would be very happy with that. If CE goes in a year or two, so be it but, firstly, we would get a decent fee for him and, maybe more important, GLC will get a year to settle in. Then we build from there next summer.
If CE leaves this summer, even if we could get in 3 or 4 quality new CMs/ACMs to replace and supplement him and Dembele (which i don't think we can) they would need time to integrate. We can all blame Levy for the shambles our midfield is in but the reality is that it will take time to rebuild it.

Ive got to the point where I don't care if he stays or goes to be honest. If he does go to Madrid I wouldn't be surprised if the white hankys come out by Christmas.
One sublime pass every 3 or 4 games doesn't do it for me against 2 goals from free kicks in three years and abysmal corners. They already have midfielders who keep things ticking over.
Completely agree with you mate. It's not a popular opinion. His output statistically is good, but beneath the numbers you see a player who rarely takes the game by the scruff of the neck, and goes missing consistently in big games. Not to mention his overall game last season was really really poor. Of course he is very talented and I hope he stays, but he's going to have to improve enormously to keep the Madrid fans happy.

If Ndombele signs and Eriksen stays, I think he'll have one of his best seasons with us so far. Lack of a decent midfield last season definitely hindered his ability to create normally
This thread, holy shit. It just all went to shit again..
This previous season.
SC: Eriksen plays like bollocks, he head is turned, just wants to leave, he can go anyways don't like him, never perform in the biggest games, can't take corners or freekicks, can't tackle for shit, we just need a fit Lamela back
Eriksen: I want to fufill my childhood dream and try something else
SC: Ohh f*** off you're shit anyways, maybe Onomah now can conquer the world
ITK: Eriksen will sign another deal if Spanish Giants don't come in.
SC: YAAY HAPPY DAYS. Eriksen just needs his Dembele^2 to perform again, we back boys
Some bollocks in the media, Levy offering Eriksen to Madrid etc:
SC: Don't care if he goes or stays i'm happy with whatever, neever performed in the biggest games anyways, GLC can do the job just as good, Winks has done much better than Eriksen anyways
For god sake, will you all have a good hard look at yourself and show some respect to our players. Embarrassing, christ..
It's probably optimistic but i'd like Eriksen to stay and sign a new contract + Lo Celso being brought in. To me, replacing Eriksen with Lo Celso isn't going to make us stronger, unless we sign another similarly creative midfield player. We already needed another creative midfield option in the team even if Eriksen stayed.
Unfortunately, the Spurs way seems to be to sell to buy and i just don't see a situation where we end up with both Eriksen and Lo Celso in the same squad.
I've always wanted him to stay, but it's understandable behaviour really, Spurs will always come first and fans always try to soften the blow.
To be honest the way it's all played out I'm still relaxed if he leaves, certainly doesn't feel the same as Berba, Keane, Carrick, Modric or Bale.
I'll be buzzing if he signs a new deal though, fantastic footballer.
I understand that fans will try a soften the blow, but he has done us well for 6 freaking years, played his heart out and gave everything for the club.
Has acted like a top professional the whole time, just recently came out and said he wanted to try something new, but he also would like to stay at Spurs if anything didn't come true (Barca & RM). Can you really blame him, I for one would like to go to sunny Spain if I could instead of staying my whole career in London. Anything else said in this situation is the press, and people eat it raw all the time.
He has really not had that bad a season compared to some others in our team, and just because his situation is complicated he gets all the hate.
