Not sure why fans are classed as haters for pointing a player isn’t playing to their required level? What we meant to say every spurs players are brilliant, and never do anything wrong or have a bad run of games?

That’s 5 goals and 5 assist in 12 games vs City for Eriksen in a Spurs shirt!

It’s also because Eriksen has a huge impact on how we play. So it’s very noticeable when he is in a slump and our whole team kind of crumbles around him. It’s no secret that when he has a bad game the rest of the team also struggles and when he has a good game the rest of the team also have a good game. I doubt it’s a coincidence that Eriksen has looked much better against Crystal Palace and City and so did the rest of the team.

It’s very rare that Eriksen has a bad game, but the rest of the team has a good game. It’s a problem because we don’t really have another player who can do what Eriksen does. I think it’s why we struggle so much when he is in a slump.

He gets a lot of stick in every match thread - and I do think that his set-piece delivery needs to improve - but he always seems to go on and be involved in a goal later in the game. Can't ever question his work rate, great engine.

First time I've ever seen him make a sliding tackle, and it was even a pretty crucial one. Seriously need him off set-pieces though. I cannot stand to watch another set piece hit the first defender.

This is it for me. We expect a lot of him because he's capable of being excellent. He's entitled to an off game here and there but it really shows when he does. Last night, his play overall was excellent.

For me the biggest frustration still are his set pieces. For a player of his ability, he's had too many poor FKs and corners. Feel like he needs to get some confidence back on these, someone's stolen his mojo.

I don’t think Eriksen had a great game today by his standards, but I think his form’s suffered due to the reasons @mpickard and others have hinted at; fatigue, mental and physical.

He’s been a near constant in a term where we’ve seen our whole CM line up devastated by long-term injuries and a transfer; see Dembele, Wanyama, Winks, Dier, Alli (both CM and AM). We’ve literally been running on fumes in CM. Thank fuck for Sissoko!

The same injured or absent list scenario for our AMs and forwards…Dele again, Kane, Lamela, Son (national team call ups). We also had a season-long blank transfer window which basically neglected the critical need to beef up our CM options in particular.

All of the above has meant Eriksen has had to play more game time than he ideally should have, and he’s had to constantly cover for gaps in our squad.

He wasn’t quite on his game today, but still had the quality and reserves to lay off some critical passes and assists.

Not totally on his game, by any means. But another assist today, and even put in a couple of challenges.

His work rate and pressing hasn’t dropped this season, but his touch is just not there and hasn’t been for some time.

He’ll still get assists because he’s such a good passer, but by his standards he’s giving the ball away quite a lot as well. Which is just unheard of with him. Still don’t think he’s fully focused, although I agree with others he’d probably suffering from a bit of mental fatigue.

Tired or not, his passing was woeful for much of today's game. Loads of silly little flicks and once again inability to get the ball over a wall is alarming. Doesn't seem to want to get physically involved lately, saying that he committed a couple of fouls and won a tackle today (that got one of the biggest cheers of the day)

Mirror headlines....(yeah I know, I know)
Man Utd plan to TREBLE
Christian Eriksen's Tottenham wages if they can seal summer signing

Real Madrid are also keen on landing the Denmark star but Manchester United are ready to offer him £240,000-a-week in wages
Eriksen, currently on around £80,000-a-week, is just two months away from entering the final year of his contract – and has so far kept his options open by refusing to commit to a new Tottenham deal.
Senior figures at White Hart Lane are increasingly concerned that Eriksen won't re-sign as the deal he's looking for would need to match the £200,000 they're paying striker Harry Kane.
