Which is why, *IF* we lose him, we have to make sure we get one of Madrid's playmakers in the deal. Isco, James, Asensio, I don't care which one. Just make sure we get one.

You should care and the answer you're looking for is Asensio.

I’d have Isco. James is nowhere near Eriksens level and Asensio is nothing like him and it’ll leave a massive hole in team still. To be honest though in some ways getting the money might be better, any of those included will be a straight swap and it’ll still leave us needing a CM. If we got 80m say, at least there’s a slim chance of signing a 40m Eriksen “replacement” (god knows who) and a 40m CM.
I dunno, it’s depressing even thinking about it.

No idea if it’s been mentioned elsewhere but for us to even have a sniff of getting Isco, I assume we’d have to give Madrid some kind of option on Eriksen?

It does feel like that this would be them applying the lube before they fuck us.

That Madrid squad isn't what it was 2 years ago. I'm not sure what is going on there, maybe finances are finally catching up but they don't see to be able afford to spend £100-150m every year on Galactico signings. What I'm saying is I'm not sure they can afford say a De Jong and Eriksen this year. Yeah I know De Jong has gone to Barca but you get my point.

If we lose Eriksen it will hurt us so badly if we don't have the next Eriksen lined up to replace him, even then it will hurt us. He makes our attack tick.

Madrid have money. They are back as number 1 on deloits rich list. They are owned by the fans so have no outgoing and little debt. They are looking to upgrade the bernabau which would be less debt than man utd owe and about halfof ours. But this summer they have the presidential elections. Perez will buy big, if he doesn't someone else will. Voters love a galctico.

I think people look too much at signing direct like for like replacements.

As long as we spend the money on quality we can still improve the team.

Liverpool still haven't replaced Coutinho but they have invested the money well.
